I will be using my sons Honda 250cc motorbike while I an visiting Thailand an want to make sure that if I get stopped by the police I have all the right documents. I am a qualified bike ride with a UK bike licence and will obtain an International Driving Licence before I go to Thailand the bike is registered and taxed. ok I understand that most of the time the police wont bother but just to be on the safe side I would like to be covered.

Carry your UK Licence and the associated IDP which also states you can legally ride a bike.

Carry your Passport (some officers ask for this).

Carry the Bike Licence book (Green Book for a bike).

Carry the up to date Bike Tax.

Carry the Bike Insurance.

Ensure the bike has no mods (i.e. exhaust).

Always wear a helmet.

With all of this covered - IF / When the Police stop you at a check point they should let you go, if they don't, don't give in too easily, its simply a game. If you have not done anything illegal, there is nothing they can do.

It is always a good idea to have 'someone' influential to call, just in case you are stopped (i.e. a BiB friend etc).

Agree with the above post but I would have a copy of the Green Book and not the original as the Green Book is the title to the bike and if the bike gets stolen and the Green Book is with it you will be S.O.L.
