Paypal are charging you 5%?

Yes that's why many people have dropped them.

I'm not sure what % is charged but Paysbuy seems to be a popular alternative in the Kingdom now.

Posted

Hi

For some reason that is the approximate amount that get deducted when someone uses PayPal to make a payment to us. We are looking into why the fee seems so high and will try our best to get the figure down.

If you make payment by bank transfer you can avoid the PayPal fee altogether.

Best regards

Ian from the PassionDelivery team

We are looking into offering the credit card option and hope to be able to offer it soon.

The post says "From quality sausages and bacon, amazing steaks or hand crafted pies, we've got it covered. Or perhaps you prefer some delicious jams, crumpets, all natural granola, freshly roasted coffee beans or premium teas."

Those photos certainly make the meats look really appetizing... I was getting excited at the thought of some good tasting sausage and smoked bacon for a change.

But then I continued on through the website and saw 'Twining' teas. Premium? That's like saying McD's is 'premium.'

Now I'm left questioning just how good these meats can be, if the criteria for 'quality' and 'premium' encompasses Twining's tea.

Anyone have experience with the meats from this company?

I got fed up with paying top prices at expat grocery stores for meat, only to cook up an expensive ribeye that'd gone off (just like from the cheaper stores). When I read out about Passion Delivery I checked their prices and decided I had nothing to lose.

Here's a part of my order (excluding cheese and even more steaks ordered via phone): Ribeye, Tenderloin, Angus minced beef, diced lamb, Sloane's Pork & Leek Sausages, Sloane's Cumberland Sausages.

All tasted great - I'm still working through the cheese (five or six) not listed. The delivery was fast and to the door, and the box arrived double packed.

From my experience, I'd say go for it. I'll certainly be ordering again (but from Bangkok).

There are quiet a few companies already making very good sausages ,bacon, and other meat

products here in Chiang Mai, only Rimping seems to have decent steaks though,

As for Folk guitar saying Twinning' s tea not been premium, they have only been at it

for 300 years,so they must be doing something right, not that I drink it,but prefer premium

Yorkshire tea,but then there will be those that swear that Liptons yellow label is the tops!

Thanks for all the feedback. We do have a few regular PassionBox customers in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai and they have said our beef and seafood is some of the best they have had in Thailand.

We are very careful about selecting the products we sell and test them each several times to ensure they are consistently good. We also add new products to our delivery service all the time and just added NZ wild caught lemon sole.

It is easy to keep up to date by following us on FB, our FB link is here if interested. https://www.facebook.com/passiondeliverybangkok

I'm sure if you give our PassionBox service a try, you won't be disappointed!

Great tea that Yorkshire. No comment on the Liptons bah.gif

Lots of folks love McDonalds, but would you compare their hamburger with one from the Dukes? McD's been around for half a century...still hard to call it a 'premium' offering.

I didn't say Twinings was 'bad.' I said it's not a 'premium' tea. It's 'drink-able' (if that's a word...) but I certainly prefer a nice cup of Fortnum & Masons 'Royal Blend.' THAT is a premium tea! Or an English Breakfast blend from our own Vieng Joom On's tea shop by the river. That too is a 'premium' tea. My comment was born of curiosity about this company's definition of 'quality' and 'premium.'

Rimping 'used to' carry Yorkshire and Yorshire Gold loose leaf teas, but no longer do so. They also carried Fortnum & Mason teas too before F&M stopped retailing tea abroad except my mail order, Jackson's of Piccadilly and several of the Taylors of Harrogate line other than Yorksire too.

i advise against paysbuy. i bought some boat tickets to get back to the mainland and the boat didn't show up and we had to hire another boat. after i contacted them they blew me off. contacted my credit card co. and it took 10 weeks to get the money back. paypal is much better.

No way, I think its against the law to dunk anything into Fortnum and Masons tea,

you have to make do with Typhoo or Brooke Bond.

Does the length of time a ginger nut can be dunked for before dissolving change based on the brand of tea it is being dunked into?

As there have been no scientific studies on that subject ,I honestly don't know the answer .biggrin.png but i am sure somebody could get a grant for it !

what is the difference between a ginger nut and a ginger snap?

Considering Half the Brits on the board do not know Good Fish & Chips I am not surprised there is now a Brit's debate on Tea.

Good grief. There is another thread going on about what you do with your day here. It's rather apparent that most of the sad pathetic days are taken up blathering on about complete drivel...

"Blah blah blah I don't go to the pub, I sit in coffee shops and comment on tea on social media."

How else are they going make up their sad pathetic days? If it wasn't complete drivel then they wouldn't be pathetic......

Perhaps not your cup of tea (Pun intended) but each to their own. And if it keeps them alive then no harm done.
