PHNOM PENH (Khmer Times) – A University of Southeast Asia graduate has been arrested over an alleged threat published on Facebook to use a bomb to kill Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng.

Police said 26-year-old Tao Savoeun, from Angkor Thom district in Siem Reap province, was called in for questioning soon after his graduation ceremony after they were made aware of the Facebook comments.

“The suspect has confessed to making a death threat against Samdech Sar Kheng on Facebook and now we have passed him over to the court for further processing,” Lieutenant-Colonel Phoeung Chendareth, bureau chief of minor crime for the provincial police, told Khmer Times.
