Road Conditions & Underpasses

Featured Replies

If coming from Phuket Town to the just started underpass at the end of the bypass traffic now has to turn left & go up the bypass to make a U turn. Don't know what they will do with traffic coming form the north when they close the intersection.

Long line up coming into the U turn on Thepkasatri which definitely needs an overpass soonest but a few local residents are against it so that is a no go. I wonder if there is a fair land appropriation law here but judging from other fiascos on the island such as the water tanks on Visit Rd it does not appear so.

The thread about the holes is quiet appropriate as there are dangerous ones all over the place. There is about a 1m long one on the outside lane in the upper section of the bypass. A motorbike hitting that at speed would be lucky to survive.

The sides of Chalermprakiat Rd have not had any progress towards finishing the works for at least a year. I can see the same happening on Chao Fa West & Patak which were recently dug up but not restored.

As for the Samkong underpass fear only a large scale protest will ensure that ever gets finished. Seems like they have no idea how to do the underground part.
