Nokia Care....where?

Featured Replies

Is it true Nokia Care have moved from Changklan and are now behind Big C Superhwy?

All phone numbers are out of date on the web and my Nokia stinks on connectivity with Mac which I need.

ps To be fair when I once visited Changklan the staff were great.

Nokia is now Microsoft, at least what concerns the mobile phones. They licensed the name to them for 10 years. So check with Microsoft.

Thanks Madmac

My guess is if Microsoft own they would retain the Nokia Care name at least for now?

Unless someones seen a Microsoft care shop?

if it is still branded with Nokia, it is going to be at least a few years old. What is the model number of it? There may be some software out there you can use under a VM (virtual machine) or a program like Crossover or Playonmac

Google gives a Mahidon Rd address and phone. Have you tried it?

Thanks v much but i'm gonna let someone who knows what they're doing have a go

Send me the model number. I will see what I can come up with. I use Mac's daily and also run the apps I mentioned above. I will see if I can find a working solution. Just let me know what you want it to do with your mac. Feel free to PM me if you like.

Hi Fritz it's a Lumia 520.

I'm going to try every mini USB lead in the house right now have a go first.

I had the same no-connection problem with a Nokia windows phone I had before....this is just a feature phone.....not a good record so far on connecting to mac.

Fact is I've been taking nearly all photos with my iPad but eg the other day I cycled up Doi Suthep and took a couple of "I done it!" Pics....well you don't want to be carting anything bigger than a phone.

I also listen to a lot of podcasts....always from iPad mini....but walking hiking and running with the mini is no good need a phone size object

Should probably think about a change of phone but I'm not phone freak enough to fork out for an iPhone and they seem a bit heavy.

The 520 has the stupidest flat profile on the four way button surrounding the main button you have to try to use your fingernail for UP cannot use the finger flesh

Though I believe the 520 will set up for podcasts

I have looked for a bunch of different software, and this one MAY possibly work http://nokia-photo-transfer.en.softonic.com/mac

I cannot find any windows apps that would work with crossover.

Your options are the app I suggested or a VM. https://www.virtualbox.org/ is free, you would install windows from an ISO file and then connect the lumia to it in the windows virtual machine.

Thanks for the effort Fritz but this morning I connected Lumia and MacBook with the wife's Nokia usb connector.

The phone memory came up on the desktop just like a drive.

I went to the photos, highlighted them all, and simply dragged into iPhoto and in they went ready for use.

Five minutes later stuck a thumb drive with completely unrelated pix on and did exactly the same.

Sorry to make a fuss when it looks like it was the connector and no software at all is necessary.

Now to get the podcasts more user friendly or at least get used to how they work and away we go.

Though I would love a different phone which would give better quality photos, podcasts/audiobooks which are easy to off/on/rewind/FF 15 secs and works for someone with great big hands but preferably not too heavy for running and biking
