Better check whether your insurances contains "Emergency Evacuation and Repatriation Insurance".

Those air ambulances are really neat.

Go to the emergency room immediately ... and remember to wear the jacket

that Mummy sewed your name tag on. :o

Naka.

hahahahahha Ask silly questions get silly answers hahahahahahaha

Well aren't the medical procedures different if you are an Aussie or a Yank? So ... first decide which you are then ask again :o

I'd start with a clean, neat amputation.

why not of the whole hand, otherwise that problem will happen again with another finger.

even better: both hands. you wont have any problems anymore with fear of infection after opening a can of juicy black olives.

Consider the date on the can and the place you purchased it.

If it came off a dusty shelf in the local market.... (Lotus, no worries?) :o

Alternative you can heat a piece of steel till it glows yellow and than burn out wound.

for Yanks: first call your lawer to get some millions from the company because of their dangerous packing.

ALEXTH is right - you should not be away from home - but yes, in all honesty, you'd have nothing to loose getting an anti-tetnus shot, because if it has come off some dusty stire shelkf it it will be carrying a ton of nasty bacteria on the tinn.

Tim

If it is causing you that much concern then just go to a doctor and have the shot for a few hundred baht. My understanding it is good for about 5 years so you will be protected from future "incidents".

LOL! Sarcastic bunch we got on this board. And I thought that I was an a-hole!!

Yes... you should probably get a tetenus shot just to be safe. However, this is even more important: You should also not eat the olives. Rust creates a toxic reaction and can make food highly poisonous. The health department levies very heavy fines for restaurants caught storing left over food in the opened metal cans they came in for this very reason. Any time you see rust on a can of food, dispose of it immediately.

Tsssk. You lot have no idea on offering sound advice.

Mine...Eat the Olives!

am i supposed to go and get shot or anything?

Seems a somewhat crude solution.

It's amazing how much a little indefinite article can do.

Anyway very negligent to leave you alone at home and even more negligent that there are sharp tools arround. They should be locked somewhere when the children are at home.

You in Pattaya by any chance?

If so, you could go to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital and get a tetanus shot, a band-aid and an aspirin. Should get some change out of 10,000 Baht!

DM :o

Sort of rusty is a seriously dangerous condition. When the captain of your airplane announces that he hasn't flown in a while and is sort of rusty you will fully understand what I mean.

Hey guys the OP is asking a serious question and a lot of you give silly answers.

OK OP are you really sure that they where black olives?

From which country are they from (makes a huge difference in possible infections and shots needed).

Did you have a sort of tingling sensation in your left earlobe after about half an hour.

Did you start to swing both of your arms up and down after about an hour of cutting yourself?

If so you might be infected with the highly dangerous Black Olive Virus and you need to visit a hospital as soon as possible and tell them exactly what happened.

I hope you are not too late because 5 hours after infection this virus will spread in your body faster then rabbits make love and will cause permanent desire to jump up and down for the rest of your life.
