Lite Beer Posted October 9, 2015 Share Posted October 9, 2015 EU to seize smugglers’ boats near Libya The United Nations security council has authorised European Union naval operations off the coast of Libya to discourage groups of people traffickers from smuggling migrants to Europe.All members of the council with one exception voted in favour of the UK-drafted resolution: Venezuela abstained.The British ambassador Matthew Rycroft welcomed the approval.“These groups have no respect for human life. They exploit those taking the perilous journey across the Mediterranean. They overfill poorly maintained boats, ill-suited to such a difficult crossing. He's lamenting the condition of the boat and the smugglers ethics, really? if the boats were good and safe and the smugglers were priests and nuns, would that been ok with you sir? They take them on to Europe and deliver them to a camp where they use their smart phones to call their traffickers to find out what if Calais, Germany or Sweden is the current preferred destination.
