Eyebrow and Lip Tattoos - Is It Permanent?

Hey guys, can someone explain this to me please????

My wife yesterday went and paid 100 baht (she said) and had her eyebrows done. It looks like some kind of spray paint procedure that actually looks like a tattoo. I just assumed it was temporary because it was 100 baht and because she didn't tell me she was going to do it.

I didn't like it, but just to be a nice husband I acted like everything was great and that it was fine with me.

Then this morning she says she's going to do her lips and that it is for free. I told her no don't do it, I don't like it, and I love her the way she is. But she want and did it anyway.

Then she comes back and it looks like sh** to be honest, and her lips are temporarily swollen, like a botox effect. But it looks kind of like a tattoo. Red lipstick.

Has anyone encountered this kind of sh** before?? I live in Udon Thani if that gives you any frame of reference. She's on her period, so she's not being very communicative, plus she seems wiped out from whatever she just got done.

Can anybody please explain to me what this sh** is?? I assumed it was only temporary because to my knowledge she only paid 100-200 baht (that's all I gave her). Anybody familiar with this? Is it permanent? Did my beautiful wife just make a huge mistake and forever change her face?? I mean I really don't like it, I'm hoping it is temporary!

I saw a single teardrop stream out of her eye when I was telling her before bed that I like her natural. So that got me thinking & worrying like maybe she made a big mistake. She never cries. <deleted>???? Fill me in please. Permanent, temporary, or what???

Quite possible that she has had permanent tattoos (yes, she could be fibbing about the price).

The colours and swelling will fade over the next few days. If she is lucky the lasting effects will be barely noticeable.

IMHO, women who do this sort of thing are feeling insecure about their appearance - so take care not to further undermine her confidence.

If you want to know whether the tattoos are permanent, just ask whether or not needles were used.

Ha seen a few they look like Pinocchio, They look stupid in Our opinion , we know a few Thai women in the UK who regret getting their eye brows tattooed.

Not just Thai women. Eyebrow tattooing is common in the UK and elsewhere. If done properly it can look good. If not, it can look awful.

Personally, I think it's a bad idea to have any sort of tattoo on one's face.

It's permanent. My wife knows ladies in UK that have undergone the same cheap procedure in LOS on their hols.

Yep permanent but more than 100bt

How much do you think it really cost? At minimum?

Does the actual cost matter?

The procedure has now been done and both of you will have to learn to live with the outcome.

The eyebrows sound like dyeing. Will wash out. Like hair dyes.

The lips, not so sure. If they are like little dots around the lips - could be tattooes. Especially if her lips were a bit puffed up afterwards.

I am not an expert, but do have friends that have had that sort of thing done.

Did she have eyebrow hair? Some women remove the hair of their eyebrows and then get tattooes in the place of the hair. This is a very bad thing to do, your eybrows protect your eyes from all sorts of things. That's what they are there for.

From dust, pollution etc.

If she had the eyebrows and lips tattooed (as it sounds like she did) then indeed she is concealing the true price.

As others said the swelling on the lips will go down, but the coloration is here to stay.

I agree it doesn't look good. When done around the eyes as eye liner it is attractive but nowhere else. The lips never get the color quite right and don't look natural, and the eyebrows also look unnatural (one wonders why a Thai would need to have tattooed eyebrows anyhow as the natural is already dark in color).

My Wife has very light eyebrows and thus a few months ago did her eyebrows and for the first week it looked a little silly...

Her reasons were obvious and seemed sensible to me... Now we are parents she has much less time for makeup.

Now that the tattoo has 'settled' it looks very natural - it appears to have been done very professionally.

I've no idea how much she paid or where she had this done.

Even if it is "permanent" variety, it only lasts about 3 years. Less quality ones fade quicker depending the ink etc.

I know this since our family member does this for work in Europe.

So, nothing really damaging since it will wear off later. biggrin.png

Insecure?

More likely susceptible to the advertising.....

Costs about 1,000-1,200b for the eyebrows (outside Bangkok, up to double in Bangkok) and when settled, looks fine.

Sometimes the tattoo is done twice.

Lips a similar price

Stop worrying and give her support.

Anything else will likely be destructive, especially since the job is done now.

The forum seems to have given you answers to your question so I hope the mods close this soon to stop more stupid posts about who paid!

Her body, her choice.

I'd be more concerned if she lied about the cost.

If made cheaply, and is overdone, it really shouts cheap prostitute and discredit herself and the family.

It only looks good if it is hardly visible. And from the sound of the postings, I guess it doesn't look good.....

The eyebrows often take two visits. My Gf had just done the first when I met her. She agreed not to opt for the second visit and has been glad she didnt go back. Now 18 months later cant even tell......

Its permanent. Normally its eye brows, eye lids and lips.

Most Bar girls have it done so when they leave a customer in the morning they don't need to put on any make up when they walk out of a hotel.

Its also a lot cheaper for them too as they don't need to buy as much make up as the tattoo is the make up now.

Looks quite good on some girls (when they're young) Ive seen old women that have now got tattooed eye brows hanging over their eyes. It looks ridiculous.

Sorry to hear about this. mrsphil has been warned never to get it done.

I will give you a medical opinion based on personal experience with my patients, and those of colleagues. The permanence depends on the quality of the ink used and the skill of the operator with the tattoo needle. Results can be virtually permanent if ink and operator are both excellent. I personally have never seen and eyebrow job that I would consider aesthetically pleasing - they all look very artificial to me. Lips jobs can be somewhat better if the color is not outrageous and the a moderate amount of dye is injected. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder !

Costs range upward from about 1500 baht for each session, for quality work -- sometimes 2 sessions for each area. Cheaper in less populous areas.

The tattoos can be removed through the use of medical lasers. This involves three to six (or more) sessions for each area by a skilled medical laser technician or doctor.. The process consists of burning off the upper layers of the dermis with the laser, until the layers containing the dies are burned off, Sessions are usually 10 days to 2 weeks apart, are quite painful, and leave the area looking like a burn ( not pretty). After the dyes are all gone, and the swelling and discoloration have gone away, the result is usually very good, and looks like it did before the tattoo. Each session for laser treatment will cost 4,000 to 7,000 baht. I would not trust anyone who charged less than thiese amounts.

Those are the facts as I know them - good luck !

The eyebrow is only than aesthetic if you can't see it....Means there are reasonable own eyebrows, and there is made so little that they just look a little bit darker.

If there are virtually no eyebrows, but a full area tattoo it looks bad for someone young and like an aged prostitute for someone for someone old.

Lip can be better if color is OK and not overdone.

Edit: and than you that you as specialist taking the time to post here clap2.gif
