To quote the great Bugs Bunny..."what a maroon." That boy needs to be removed from the gene pool anyone that stupid should not be allowed to procreate. What did he think would happen, young farang running down street with fake gun and cash in hand with Thais in pursuit. Logic dictates only one outcome to that scenario.

Had this image of the Beagle Boys robbing the First National Bank and running down the street with bags of cash and coins. biggrin.png

Funny thing is....Thailand would be good place to set up shop for a foreign gang of professional bank robbers, lets face it security is slack at best, and the BIB are pretty useless....i am no talking about this half wit, but the professionals

More quality tourism. What more can one expect from a country built off the back of convict labor?

Spoken like a true well breed upstanding muppet -

Suggest a quick read of the following - just for your education ...

Well I was wondering how long it would take to get that kind of reaction. Almost a world record. It's called irony Sunshine! I'm from the Land Downunder and we have a sense of humor. It appears you've lost yours.

The point was made and as you reckon you're an Aussie, you well know there are no second prizes, not even in a chook raffle -- and as for irony, it went over like the proverbial pregnant pole vaulter.

Yeah - convicts all from Great Britain where you obviously come from. Mr. indeed.

You mean Aussie surely ? as the poster has already clarifed he is a skippy

Whats has happened to the Aussie sense of humour ? They are sounding more and more like USers everyday...everything so serious and literal

That's what happens with PC - as PC increases the sense of humor decreases.

Most of the bank branches I go in have at least one armed guard. Cops round here would love firing shots at farangs too.

Getting money into Thailand is easy. Getting money out, legal or otherwise, is a different matter.

What would be amazing is to see the difference in attitude from the BiB. Nothing galvanizes them quicker than the chance to nab farangs; and the bank might be paying a reward too!

What happened to "Stand and Deliver". It is a great line from our pommie/irish ancestors. The olden-day highway men had a great deal of panache in their hold-up methods. Ned Kelly, Ben Hall, Captain Moonlight would be terribly disappointed that their chosen profession was reduced to a boof-head with a toy gun and no horse.

Well he faces 25 years in Thai jail to think about his actions......

Wont be anywhere near 25 years, more likely between 6 months- 7 years. Cut that in half if he confesses. He would then get additional time cut for good behavior so will probably end up serving 1/3 of his sentence.

The key words here are no return ticket , how did he board a flight without one, they only let you on generally without a return when you have a business visa or Married , so they will be checking this closely from now on, the lad has just found out why you don't rob a bank in Thai , you will get caught, Thai banks generally don't have clear exits paths and good traffic flow like in the west and most have armed guards inside , just don't bother trying it. coffee1.gif

How does anyone imagine they will have enough money to buy a return ticket at the end of a month stay, if they dont have enough before they set out ? ( unless they are planning all along to augment the holiday funds by a spot of "moonlighting", or they had planned to win the Lottery )
