Elderly woman shot dead in Narathiwat

NARATHIWAT:-- An elderly woman was shot dead Saturday in a pre-dawn attack in Bacho district in Narathiwat that was reportedly aimed at her kamnan son.

At about 6am, police and security officers inspected the 65-year-old victim's house in Ban E-yoh village of Tambon Ba-re Nua. There they found the body of Leemo Kama at the front door. Police collected seven spent M16 assault rifle cartridges and three bullets at the house.

Police said the unidentified assailants were at the house's entrance when two of them, each carrying an M16, walked to the front of the house. They said Leemo opened the front door and they opened fire, killing her instantly.

The men fled in a vehicle parked on the main road near the house.

Elderly?

65 years young?

That makes many of us "ancient".

But the part about each carrying an M16 is worrisome.

I dont think the report intended us to think the young lady had an M16.

RIP

From what I understand, first hand, this happen when a local someone with more power, wants the land of a person who doesn't want to sell..
