Just a note to remind Prem lovers that the time difference from UK kick-off to Thai time is now 7 hours.

I see that the standard kick-off time today is 2:05pm (early game at noon and late game at 4:15pm)*. Seems to be the FA doffing its cap to Asian interest in the English & Welsh game? Is that intended to continue going forward for the rest of the seaon until BST comes back? Don't remember it happening before if so.

Nice watching this evening - Geordie/Makem derby at 7:00pm, Manc derby at 9:05pm and Liverpool v Soton at 11:15pm (may tomorrow for that one then!)

Should have added - same time change for the other European leagues as well, of course

I think the OP is grasping at straws if he thinks the FA has made changes for the Asian market.

Skysports have all 3 games and have scheduled to suite them.

Actually a lot of it has more to do with the input from the police, hence the Wear Tyne Derby being 12 o'clock today.

Who don't want repeats of the last meeting of these two.

Popular view, but personally if other things were equal (family/kids/school) my ideal would be Jun/Jul/Aug/Sep in UK and the other 8 months here. Rainy season sucks in Thailand.

It's easy to have great short term breaks at short notice in other European countries (cycling through French vineyards, relaxing on Greek islands, walking in Spain/Portugal etc) if a poor spell develops. Then there's all those lovely pubs to enjoy proper beer in if you can't get away.

I'm reluctantly off to the UK on business in a couple of weeks and to make the trip even more miserable, whilst I'm there it's international break so I don't even get to take in a City match.

Certainly doesn't suit Southampton fans who have to make the trip home from Anfield.

Other football will be played that weekend. Try League One (remember that?) or Two or even non-league. You might enjoy it.

yeah. they won't have got out of anfield until going on 7pm and then have to get on their coaches, get out of the city in traffic and head back down to the south coast. horrible scheduling for them.

I've got to do some travelling round the country and will only be in my home town for a few days and I haven't seen my family for about a year. For a City match I would sacrifice not spending some time with the family to travel to a match but not to watch any other team.

I rest my case, as I said in my earlier post yesterday. Spurs woz the biggest game 5-1.

An a complete waste of time, hype, bar lounge space with plastic utd supporters. Score 0-0

I thank you.

An yes I'm Spurs genuine supporter, born an bred from Tottenham High Road N17. Now happily living in East Pattyaya.

Good on you. Plenty of others on the Spurs thread for you to happily twitter along with. They seem to like visiting other threads a lot too when they get bored with each other, so if you're a wind up merchant you can pitch in on that kick too!

Nope. Away to Spain while I'm in the UK and home to France the day after I fly back.

And I won't go and watch an England match whilst they play darn souff. They should have built the national stadium in Birmingham or thereabouts.

Or Wigan...they have mighty pies there ya know!

never keen on butter pies, always tasted sort of like a northern quiche.

and you're quite right boj, the national games should be moved around the country as much as possible so kids from all over can go see them. it seemed to work really well when the new wembley was being built.

Its hilarious that the FA have to hold them all at Wembley given the cash floating around in the game.

I'm having a Hollands Steak & Kidney pud for tea. With chips, of course. I'm in England so don't ask me where to buy them in Thailand.

When I go back I'm having Pudding (baby's heads) chips, mushy peas and gravy. Us northern lads love gravy

A hot pork pie* in a bowl of mushy peas with mint sauce. sounds disgusting but in west Yorkshire pubs it works real well!

*Edit: preferably made by Wrights of York from piggies slaughtered in the Vale of York
