YEMEN: -- First, Kunduz in northern Afghanistan, and now three weeks later it is Heedan in Houthi-controlled north Yemen, another Medicins sans Frontieres hospital destroyed by an air raid.

This time no-one was killed, with MSF reporting two staff members have been wounded, but the hospitals GPS co-ordinates had been made public weeks before several missiles slammed into the building.

The Saudis, leading the air campaign, deny their planes were involved.

“I am very worried about the situation in Heedan district where 200,000 people live. The hospital that MSF was supporting was destroyed today. It was covering the health needs of the population so honestly I don’t know how the population will manage to have access to healthcare,” said MSF’s Dr. Meguerditch Terzian.

Footage has been released of air strikes on seven boats the Saudi-led coalition against the Houthi rebels say were smuggling weapons into Yemen. Yemeni sources say at least 100 people died in the attacks near Akban island.

In the past hospitals has been kept safe thanks to the Geneva convention but as there has been be no reprisals against US for attacking the hospital in Afghanistan they have shown that the Geneva convention is no longer in use. We can clearly see this today as the Saudis (allies of US) attack a hospital just 3 weeks after the attack in Afghanistan and we are going to see more hospitals being attacked and blown up as US has now set the new standard.

Oh, pfui. That goes back to 2002 when President Cheney and several Department of Justice officials announced that the Geneva Convention would not be applied to any "terrorists" and the treaties were a quaint relic of the past. In this case I'm waiting to see if they find evidence that this attack was carried out by Tomahawk cruise missiles, like the attack on al Ma'jalah in December 2009. That caused 42 civilian deaths and used cluster munitions, which would be a war crime in any civilized world. If Tomahawk missiles were actually used, that would be conclusive evidence the strike was directed by the Americans. They launch Tomahawks from submarines in the Gulf. This was undoubtedly a war crime, as was the attack on the hospital in Kunduz, but the Americans surely are not going to accept that verdict and no one will be punished. It's just that the Deep State has not changed, despite the supposed change in Presidents. I must say, however, that they have become absolutely bonkers.
