Roadside Assistance

Featured Replies

In the UK we have a massive choice of campanies that offer 24 hour roadside assistance, the AA, RAC etc.

My cars are now 2 years old and obviously out of warrenty.

Does anyone know if there is a National Company in LOS that provides this type of service?

I worry about my Wife's car breaking down one day in the middle of Nakon Nowhere and I am out of the country and can't help :o

I have searched the forum back 6 months and can find no mention of it.

Thanks

I think I'm correct in saying that some car manufacturers here have a roadside recovery service....and that it's included in the price of a new vehicle. Why not try contacting the company you bought your car from to see if you can pay for the service annually.

My roadside assistance comes from Serenade, which is basically a club from AIS that you get to join if your monthly cellphone bill is high enough, and it is always paid on time. (Strange kind of thing, i know!)

Anyway, one of the bonuses of having this card is that i can call their callcenter (where the operators speak perfect English, unlike the regular AIS callcenter) and they will fix me up with roadside assistance.

It was tested the one and only time on Jan 4th this year, when my car electrics died due to a Solenoid failure. Called them up, and they had a guy on a motorbike with his toolkit strapped on at Siam Paragon within an hour. They claim to have nationwide coverage with this program also.

If it wasent for them, i would have been screwed!

you should be able to get it from your insurance company. i use bangkok insurance and i have a roadside assistance program included. This includes nation-wide towing back to Bangkok, so I don't get stuck out in nowhere with mechanics that don't know anything about anything... not to say bkk has the best mechanics, but you get my point.

just ask your insurance company. i'm sure they will provide you with additional roadside insurance, albeit for an additional price as well.
