We are looking for Thai language teacher in Phuket. We need the teacher to come 1-2 times per week and teach 2 adults, around Chalong area. It's preferable for teacher to have a program(system) and experience.

If you know someone or have ideas on how to find one, we would really appreciate that.

Thanks

If you enrol with Thaistyle.com (various courses) they will find you a teacher in your area, rates for the teacher are tbt 300 per hour + a little travelling time if they come to your house.

looking at this website and their programs right now. has anyone tried them yet?

they offer to register and buy the program even before I know which teachers are available.

Twixt Sattahip and Bangsare. My only worry is my head used to be like a sponge, now its like a lump of concrete, it might have trouble absorbing the info I'm fed.

The only limits are the ones we set ourselves.

Just keep your mind open and do your best. And don't worry about the rest! ;-) Chok dee krap!

Yes, its going good, better to have a teacher, it helps you do more than you would probably do by ones-self. Tones are definately a problem to me though as my hearing is not too good, so I have decided to learn to read and write thai too, I think by learning the vowels especially will make it easier to pronounce the words. I also get a lot of satisfaction from looking at thai words and being able to recognise parts of writing. My teacher (kruu ya) is very proficient and patient, I have a two hour lesson on a Saturday morning (300฿ an hour + 200฿ travelling) which is more than enough, my brain is beginning to get a little addled by the end of the two hours. Have you been pro-active in learning the language? Chock dee

I think my biggest problem with learning tones is my poor hearing, but I'll persevere.
