The first time I came to Thailand, I landed in Phuket and was staying at Patong Beach near a shop called "Porn Shop". I kept going in and out of the shop, but I was too embarrased to ask the salesgirl where they kept the porn!

IMO, I think the confusion here comes from the fact that different English accents create different sounds for the same letter combinations. Porn spoken by a Brit will sound much the same as pawn spoken by an American. I can't think of any Thai word that ends with a distinct rn sound. Ror Rua at the end of a a word denotes an n sound.
