BB24
Anyone know if there is anyone in Thailand that imports/makes/supplies louvres for car rear windows? I have been looking and have never sen one for sale - or a car with one (mainly in CM). Asking anyone in a Thai car parts shop gets me 'that' look and no help at all. IMHO
I have never seen one of these in Thailand.
giddyup
I used to have those on the rear window of my 260Z but never seen any here, and it doesn't make any sense why not as they stopped the sun coming in at the back, but didn't hinder rear viewing. Jitar
Maybe these are 70's fashion that LOS missed. Possibly because they look better on coupes and muscle cars than pick ups and small sedans. There's always ebay etc.
NanLaew
I have never seen one of these in Thailand. Never seen any of them anywhere since I were a lad (and the Ford Capri was hot).

canthai55
Remember venetian blinds for the inside of the rear window ?
giddyup
I have heard of sad. Why, is that what they call you?
MYKTHEMIN
No but I would be if I had one of those awful things on my car.
BB24
Thanks for the replies - as expected Thailand 'missed' the point - as have those who think I give a rat's rear end what it makes my car look like to them. I would have throught that anything that keeps the car from getting to 50+ degrees after sitting in the sun for 30 minutes (and cooler while driving), would be popular here - they still are in AUS/USA. The way rear windows of cars are so 'sloped' these days (for lower wind resistance to get another 0.5km/litre) they are a huge 'open door' for the sun to heat inside the car. That only used to be a problem for Coupes (thus why louvres were invented), but now the problem exists for most sedans too. Looks like Plan B - strip of 100% blockout across top of rear window - 95% blockout for the rest.
overherebc
If I could find them I'd fit them as well. Stop a lot of heat building up and stop the fading and cracking on the back shelf, it's carpet covered with speakers as per the original 70's design. 70's version of todays 80% tint and doesn't have any effect on rear vision. canthai55
Any competent fiberglass shop can make a cardboard or thin plywood form to suit your application. Try the guys who make custom door panels for the 273 speakers they put in cars. Should be able to fix you up.
OMGImInPattaya
Probably considered an illegal modification to the vehicle...otherwise I'm sure we'd see some around. Maybe just install rear interior blinds/screens like one finds on high end car models. I mean the police and LTD were at loggerheads over those silly foam keys people are affixing to their car exteriors...exterior louvers would blow their minds. pgrahmm
Never saw them here.... OR in the states once the 70's cars started dying off..... Not sure how much heat restriction available in this climate.... If I remember the good ones were hinged to allow cleaning...Might be difficult to fabricate good quality one here with mounting hardware..... Usually on the sweptback cars - not too many in LOS.... giddyup
I had a red similar 260Z as pictured, the louvres were pretty much standard on this model. The Lambo is something else.
overherebc
Looking at that 260 I think I have an idea for my next project, when I finish the present one.
