Hi Here is another visa problem.. i would value some comments.

A retirement visa you can lodge 800,000bht or have a 65,000 pension, okay here is the question. Why would you lodge that amount of money when you cvan invest the same amount at 10% ( easly done safely but not in Thailand) thus returning 80,000bht then use that money for a plane trip to home, in my case Aus. get a new double entry 3 month visa and still have money to spare.

that is what i do. comments please brian hughes from Nan

Use the interest stream of 80K to get certified by your embassy as income and obtain the retirement visa then you don't have to make the trip. Even cheaper and less hassle than the triple tourist route.

That's 80K PA, not per month.

whoops sorry thats not enough income to qualify. But the problem may arise that serial tourist activity might be frowned upon down the road and future Tourist visa's denied.

Brian, I have not been very lucky with my stock market investments and would be grateful to get details from you about how you invest money safely at 10%. At this rate, I expect to able to live on income from investment.

Hello agian from brian

thanks for you comments. More sums on retirement visas,

800,000bht lodged in a local bank brings nothing or next to nothing, but invested at 10% brings 80,000 bht per year. to use this money to go home and obtain a dble entry 3 month visa is far more cost effetive than lodging it localy. that is not to say the 80,000 bht is living expenses. if you lodge the 800,000bht you would be using that money to live on, not the money generated from it.

Maestro ==I could not talk to you on the subject you mentioned. It is too long and complicated

best if Skyped me. name "brian & Lumyai == or emailed me on //email removed//

cheers

It's just wasting your money. Why fly all the way back to Australia when you can obtain a single entry tourist visa just over the border and extend that to 6 months via 3 quick border runs...unless of course you need to go to Australia for other reasons.

This entire process does still hinge on one major question that no one can yet answer with any confidence.

WILL THEY ALLOW BACK-TO-BACK TOURIST VISAS FOR AN INDEFINITE PERIOD????

I agree. 10% aint' all that easy to make anymore. I live in the USA and this market has been shit until recently. CDs at 5.2% are looking pretty good right now.
