Saturday 4pm time needed for airport transfer

Featured Replies

On a Saturday, is it feasible to get from Don Mueang to Suvarnabhumi in 70-90 minutes around 4 or 4:20 on the shuttle bus?

Is a motorcyle taxi quicker, and do they have those at Don Mueang?

Any good, inexpensive hotels near Suvarnabhumi airport if I miss my connection?

Thank!

40 km on a motorcycle taxi on non tollways !!!

Seriously?

Anyway, no motorcycle taxis allowed to the airports.

At Suv. you could not even get close enough to walk.

Forget it.

At least you seem to have no big baggage?

I hesitate to comment on the Sat afternoon as I don't have local knowledge.

I traveled with the free shuttle bus a couple of times during weekdays around 11:00h and it was always below one hour.

No significant pile up/jam on the tollway.

Locals will have advice hot to get to the Suv. railway link from Don Mueang on the shortest route...

70-90min .... you'll be fine , that's plenty of time , usually 40-50min on normal non-heavy traffic days, but even medium-heavy traffic 60-70 is ok.

Thanks, all! So it sounds like there's not much of an afternoon rush hour on Saturdays?

Last time I was in Bangkok, going to the airport at 2:30, traffic was gridlock in the city. Maybe -- does the route between the two airports avoid the worst of the traffic?

As far as I remember the shuttle bus goes all over tollways/freeways.

No intersections, full stop only at the toll booths.

The best you can do to avoid the gridlock.

No comparison to driving "on the ground", through the city.
