I'm planning a return flight to the UK on September next year, any advice on getting cancellation insurance?

I want to insure against being unable to fly to the UK, for reasons like illness, accident etc.

Should I do it online, individual insurance company, any recommendation, or the travel agent I book with?

I got some with the airline when I booked the ticket. Was a great rate and seemed to cover the bases for me. Read the fine print just to make sure.

There are also insurance brokers here who can help, sourcing it from a variety of different vendors.

I tend to use World Nomads also. Great company.

wrong-its more likely that it HAS to be at least 3month before-obviously the closer by the fly-date the more chance you know already about heatlh/sickness problems. Also doing it later after the actual purchase may raise elbrows. Also check what your credit card may offer in this matter. And DO know that many only pay out with a few well-defined conditions, that most are unable to fulfill-sickness of your Thai darling-as its not a marriage, may not apply at all. For many a slightly more expensive, but with much more freedom to change/cancel air-booking is a better solution. PLUS that sept is about the lowest of low-season-so finding seats and low prices will not be a prob just the odd week before flying-which about solves anything. And yes-the tipical TV has complaind about it already a million times-you will NOT find the very low prices FROM TH as from UK/EUR.
