Government policy 'negatively affects' Muslims

LONDON: -- Government policies, including those linked to security and extremism, are having a "negative impact" on British Muslims, a campaign body's report says.

More than 60% of the 1,782 respondents to the report from the Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) said they felt politicians did not care about them.

Some 56% said they had experienced verbal abuse, and 18% had faced physical assault.

The Home Office said it was committed to combating "anti-Muslim hatred".

The IHRC is comically misnamed. Like many groups purporting to represent moderate Muslims it is basically a pressure group for Islamic interests which clash enormously with the interests of the general public.

"I don't think they are doing that for people who become Christian, Hindu and Jewish - or atheists, even. Why is it just Islam?

After making this statement I understand why she converted to Islam. Not rocket scientist material for sure.

Only 60%. For us non muslims the don't give a shit factor from our politicians is about 100%.

I'm sure muslims would get a much better response if they would come out against extremism more often. If you don't want to be tarred with the same brush then speak up people.

It could be that it is true. However those outside the political class and non-Muslim circles are sick to death of this being forced down their throats every five minutes. The authorities and the media so far have just about managed to keep the lid on using propaganda or out and out threats, but I don't know how long this strategy can continue before our cities become replicas of South Central Los Angeles or the flavellas of Brazil..

If you put yourself in a position where you need to be controlled, the government must control you.

The religion of permanent offence at it again, still being offended.

They certainly make it easy for the rest of us to dislike them.
