November 17, 201510 yr I went into KK IMO today to get a res certificate and was told to go to DOT "for the form". The even opened a crutch-book with example ( lots of help, I couldn't read a word of it). Gave up and went to the DOT, a madhouse-farm to say the least, but after several attempts they gave a "form" and sent me back to the IMO. There were another couple of expats with same/similar requirements, liscense renewals and motorcycle sale, there but they were off to the 2-3 hr fiasco at DOT so I assumed it was a new process. The IMO them gave another form letter, no TOR MOR number, but very official with real sig and red stamp, and wished me out of their hair. Tomorrow I'm off to a small nearby ampur, avoiding KK DOT if possible. I apologize for this incomplete post but I want to at least give a heads up for others. BTW my lisc was a auto renewal and new cycle one both but that seemed not to matter.
November 18, 201510 yr can not see what the problem is. you go to the licence office, they give you a formed letter to go to immigration. just give the letter and passport to the girl at the desk. keep your mouth shut as she knows what to do. go back to the licence office and apply for the licence . also keep your mouth shut as they know there job. if you open your mouth wanting to know what's going on they tend to mess you about
November 18, 201510 yr kk immigration do not charge for a residence certificate for a drivers licence but may charge you for a residence certificate if needed for something else. this may be different in other imm offices
November 18, 201510 yr Don't know if this applies everywhere but my local driving place accepted a letter from the police verifying where i lived. It was free too. Worth asking the driving centre to see if they accept
