ED Visa learning Chinese

Featured Replies

Ks45672,that's exactly why immigration are going to make changes to the ED visa system. They haven't got time test people's skills, and they know exactly what's going on with many so called 'students. The OP would be much better doing a legitimate BA at a University. It'll cost him about 200k over 4 years and he'll have a much easier time at immigration.

  • Nothing has changed and Universities do not issue Ed visas ! Informal education sector "students" have never been been able to obtain anything other than a 90 day extension.

Hi, lemerou

It's hard to find a native and good teacher in Bangkok, why not consider learning Chinese online? As far as I know, some of the good Chinese language school also provide the online teaching services, such as Hanbridge Mandarin, it's native and live teacher online to teach you Chinese in virtual classroom, all the teachers are qualificatied. Give it a shot.

I have previously attended language schools in Phuket to learn Mandarin. I was issued with a 90-day ED visa at the time, then renewal every 3 months at Phuket Immigration.

As for being tested at immigration, the officer explained that he couldn't test my Chinese language skills, because he couldn't speak Chinese. So he would test my Thai language skills instead cheesy.gif
