Bungalow Resort On Phuket Or Samui In February?

Hi,

My family (husband and 2 young sons, ages 4&7) will be travelling to Bangkok in Jan or Feb to adopt our daughter who will be a toddler by then. After our week there, we'd like to go to a beach resort to relax and bond. Can anyone recommend a good family-friendly place on Samui or Phuket? Here's what we're looking for:My husband, sons (ages 7 & 4)and I will be travelling to Thailand this Jan or Feb to pick up our adopted daughter (toddler) in Bangkok. We'll spend a week there, and would like to then spend five days or so at a family friendly bungalow resort on Phuket or Samui. Can you recommend some mid-range places (under $115 US) or beaches to focus on? Here's what we're looking for:

1. Beachfront resort with bungalows that has an outdoor restaurant/bar next to pool or beach, so that we can eat/drink while watching kids play.

2. A place with really nice staff who are tolerant of kids and don't mind them acting like kids.

3. Good food. We plan on hunkering down in the resort and having most, if not all, meals there. We need a place where we can live for 4/5 days without going crazy or broke.

4. Nice beach: safe, clean and pretty, not near nightlife or crowds. Somewhat isolated is fine, so long as the food/facilities are good. I've read so many contradictory reviews about beaches on Phuket and Samui, my head is swimming. It would be nice to find a place where the boys could try some very basic snorkeling and where my husband could swim, though this is not absolutely necessary.

I'd also like to hear recommendations for beaches. I've found some places that look good, but I'm not sure if the beaches they're located on are appropriate to our needs (i.e., Chawang).

Thank you very much for any help you can offer.
