joehark Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 I will arrive 0645 and depart 13.5 hours that evening. What can I see during that time? Can I pre-arrange for a guide and car to meet me at the airport and carry me around sightseeing for the day, then return me to the airport? What can I see during that time? I'd be interested in the Grand Palace, floating markets, temples, public events, fairs or performances. I absolutely do not want to be steered to commission shopping or women.

Arrange indeed a guide+car/Limo at the airport fore the whole time-period. 2. Have a head-massage+foot-massage + neck+shoulders at a good place (he/she will know where) 4. do a 'Klong'-tour in 1 of those Thai-style speedboats along the klongs. 5. Have a nice lunch along the route. 6. Ask for a tour along the Grand Palace. by that time you're about 7/8 hours on the road. 7. treat yourself for a nice dinner in some luxurious 5-star hotel at the River-side (maybe Oriental Hotel) 8. if time....have another (body) massage (no-sex, as you said....!) 9 step in the car/Limo again and have yourself drove off to the airport. 10. Have a glass of champagne at the airport and tell your friends back-home...."I 'did' Bangkok' Good Luck (I was serious with the above!) LaoPo
sbk Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 There are some reputable travel agencies that may be able to arrange this for you, Diethelm has been around a long time and as far as I know, has a good reputation.
mickybigears Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 There used to be a free minibus tour (Don Muang) of Bangkok for transit passengers. Not sure whether it still exists in the new airport.
