Hi guys,

First of all, apologies if this question has already been asked recently. I have searched through the various threads for answers but the latest information I could find was from last August and I know things have changed a lot since then. blink.png

Basically I arrived in Thailand on a single entry VISA (issued in the UK) in July. I then did a border run to Laos where i got a double entry VISA on the 24th September. This was extended at Chaeng Watthana on the 24th November which means the first entry will expire on the 23rd December, meaning I have to activate my 2nd entry. I have a few questions:

1) What do I have to do to activate my second entry? I have read that i have to apply for a return permit before I leave, is this correct?

2) Where is the easiest and closest place to Bangkok to activate my 2nd entry (and how much should this cost? My trip to Laos cost 7000 baht but that included a trip to Vientiane, VISA fee and hotel, i dont think this will be needed this time. Maybe it will be cheaper/same price to fly somewhere?)

3) Can i do it on the same day or do I have to leave the country for a certain length of time?

Thanks in advance for any assistance. I think i speak for everybody when I say the advice/information received from members of this forum is greatly appreciated!

The important date is the "Enter Before" date on your visa (not the extension). You must use all your entries before this date (OK, on the date is OK).

You do not need a re-entry permit.

All you have to do is leave the kingdom, enter another country and return to Thailand. No need to stay out for than 10 seconds.

I've not used a visa run service for a long time, so I'll leave others to say which are still operating.

1/3. You just do a border crossing for a new entry. You can just enter the other country and turn around and come back. Be sure you do it before the enter before date on your visa. You don't need a re-entry permit.

2 From Bangkok going to a crossing to Cambodia is the nearest. There are visa run companies that do the runs. I can suggest this one that does it for 2400 baht that includes the Cambodia VOA fee. http://www.thaivisaservice.com/
