I came back into Thailand on 1st December to extend my O-A visa by one year.

The 'enter before' date was 2nd December 2015. I was expecting an extension until end November 2016.

Imagine my surprise when I checked the stamp and saw 29th November 2018!

I shit you not!

I have attached an enlarged scan of the stamp.

It certainly appears to show 2018 quite clearly.

Can I rely on this date, which is presumably a mistake on the part of the immigration officer?

Opinions, please.

Had the same once with my Non B. They extended it for 3 years instead of 2. Went back to Immigration to ask them to fix it.

All said. An optical deception biggrin.png

But a much better easteregg hidden here!

Its a proof that the Non O-A gives a 365 day stamp, not a one year stamp.

Got it?

2016 is a leap year.

For a normal year the stamp should show "30 NOV ...." biggrin.png

To add to the immigration logic: extensions are one year, not 365 days.

The stamp has clearly the year 2016.
