December 14, 201510 yr We have a 8 year old fridge that still works well apart from the door seal. It doesn't close/ seal as well as it did when we first bought it. Does anyone know where we can buy a replacement door seal, or recommend a company to come out to replace. Prices? We are in San Kampaeng area.
December 14, 201510 yr Sorry but I had the same problem and the guys we used were butchers in every sense. First off the replacement seal didn't look to be the same as the original and then we couldn't close the fridge doors. So they cut down some square conduit to use as a spacer between the doors and the fridge cabinet. It sort of worked but it was a real ass about face way of doing it. Had I been able to locate proper sealing strip then I would have done it myself. Pity the manufacturers don't advertise where to go for repairs or spare parts. Edited December 14, 201510 yr by CMKiwi
December 15, 201510 yr Niyom Panich has a refrigerator repair service. What I recommend is doing all your own research on the web for you make and model parts break down list. I had to do that to get the right door gasket.
December 15, 201510 yr Niyom Panich has a refrigerator repair service. What I recommend is doing all your own research on the web for you make and model parts break down list. I had to do that to get the right door gasket. I had the repair folks from Niyom Panich out to look at an older Samsung fridge where the seal was falling apart. They took one look, said, 'can't fix,' and asked me for 300 baht; first I'd heard that they charged for an inspection, but, considering I didn't buy the fridge from NP, I offered them 100 baht, and they left. Your mileage may vary. ~o:37;
December 15, 201510 yr Very good timing on this, as yesterday, just asked my local fixer/ mender if he could get the door seal for my Panasonic fridge. I can put in myself but I need to find the thing first. He usually can get stuff if available , so he will report back in the next few days. Mine is a 2 door Panasonic. Some people in their infinite wisdom don't open the b..... door wide enough, so the side of the freezer box rips open the seal. Morons !
