Shipping agent recommendation in Bangkok?

Featured Replies

I'm hoping to hear recommendations for a reliable and hopefully honest shipping agent in Bangkok to clear my small shipment of personal effects through customs. I've talked with Allied Pickford in Bangkok and received a quote of 40,000 THB for Destination Services which is handling and clearance I gather in Bangkok as well as delivery to my place 5 hours north of Bangkok. I'm not sure how the charge below is applied and it was written in the red as it appears. "The approximated taxes & duties based on your items is THB 7,000.-8,000.00 with an official receipt or THB 5,000.00 none of official receipt."

The agent told me they could not act as an agent only for receiving my things and I'd have to allow them to deliver as well and pay the 40 thousand baht.

My things are mostly family photographs and documents. with some misc items of no monetary value. Just sentimental value at best.

I'm Ok to rent a truck or van to pick up the twelve 25" X 15" X 13" containers myself but I suspect I need an agent to deal with customs in Bangkok. I assume it's possible to pick up things at customs. Is that correct?

Any shippings agent suggestions?

Thanks

Where are you relocating from? When i moved here i used a company called Rama. I think they have an office in LA as well. For less than $500, they shipped a few boxes of my heaviest stuff (they charged by volume, not weight), including my bicycle. It cleared customs and was delivered straight to my apartment, no hassles,no bribes.
