Holiday travel: more buses to be put on during New Year period

BANGKOK -- Good news for Bangkok residents traveling to the provinces for the holidays: officials announced today they would put on more inter-province buses to accommodate the mass influx of travelers during the New Year period.

The Transport Company said this would serve up to 135,000 people daily during the holiday. It will also offer a 15 percent discount for tickets bought in advance.

Officials also announced cheaper boat fares today, following the drop in diesel price.

I guess my question would be where do you get "more buses" ?

Is there a parking lot somewhere that has 100s of unused buses that can be pulled out for long weekends ?

Or do they just have existing buses drive faster so they can do more trips in 24 hours ?
