webfact Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 We safe Thailand safe! Thai cops say country safe for 'touris'By Coconuts Bangkok'Touris' police and volunteers parade through Bangkok on Sunday. Photo: Kornkamol AksorndechBANGKOK: -- "Touris" confidence was definitely boosted yesterday when a troop of tourist police paraded through Bangkok with banners saying “We Safe Thailand Safe” and “Touris Safe.”The misspelled and mistranslated slogans were ironically part of an attempt to show off the force’s preparedness for the upcoming ASEAN economics, as the parade was led by top national cop Pol. Gen. Chaktip Chaijinda. It was unclear whether none of the 2,000 tourist policers officers and volunteers who took part in the parade actually knew how to spell “tourist,” or whether they did and cunningly planned the misspelled banners to make themselves a public laughing stock and earn extra national coverage in the press. No publicity is bad publicity, as they say. Full story: http://bangkok.coconuts.co/2015/12/21/we-safe-thailand-safe-thai-cops-say-country-safe-touris -- Coconuts Bangkok 2015-12-21
mrrizzla Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Ah really? Well the verdict of the Burmese 2 is on the 26th correct? (strategically dated to hope we forget I imagine). Every man and his dog those 2 are innocent and that the force has been bought and paid for on several levels to protect the real culprits. So yes maybe 'touris' are safe, 'tourists' I'm not so sure.
Bluespunk Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 "No publicity is bad publicity, as they say." They may say, but they are wrong.
z42 Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Haha the coconuts guys have penned this one nicely. I wonder how exorbitantly overpriced the offending banners and placards cost to make. But if these people are trying to convince me they've got safety very much in hand i am very much unconvinced. A shambles
Reigntax Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Shouldnt it say "we corrupt, Thailand corrupt, come give us you money tourists"
sapson Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Yes very safe................ Hapless tourist routinely rents a jet ski while on the beach with his friends. Only to be robbed, possibly assaulted and minus a lot of money, holiday ruined by a group of thugs in cahoots with men in tight brown uniforms. With no assistance from the aforementioned tourist police......................who are not allowed to disrupt the filling of rice bowls! Whilst the TAT turn a blind eye! But I stand corrected...........they did build a hut on the beach, the jetski extortion control centre, think the victims can even pay by credit card now!!!
Plutojames88 Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Possibly True. So long as your Thai friends Facebook post ( which you liked) isn't later altered and deemed LM material. The Loin Air operating out of old Airport sorts the port engine oil leak ( rated fourth most dangerous airline ...and that happened to us) The mini van driver hurtling along at 140 kilometres an hour doesn't crash. The ISIS guys who slipped in dont stumble on to your section of beach or Mall. The bungee cord doesn't break Ferry doesn't sink. Mafia son isn't horny and your a white daughter . The sheets are not sprayed with too much bed bug toxic chemicals. An escort decides to shove you off the verandah. You decide to cut your own throat with broken glass....or it's done for you by people who want your money. Drunk Thai men beat you to death to reenact a similar murder for fun. The wiring in the hotel electrocutes you. A jet ski runs over your head. Coconut falls on your head . Mystery bug Poison in drink Robbery late night Fall into hole on street. Motor bike brakes you hired fail. Cement truck wipes you out on crossing. Stabbed in neck by YA BA ladyboy in 7/11 Military find out your the guy on TVF and accidentally stick a bar fridge on your back while giving you a free cruise. Hotel report you using Wi fi and material anti Junta Drugs not yours found in bag . Taxi driver veers into opposite traffic showing you a picture of himself and Yingluck Walking out of embassy while ultra Nationalists are at fever pitch Lest we forget TAT
Thian Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Did they arrest ALL the bombers from the Erawan shrine and the pier?
toybits Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Please everyone. DON'T Laugh or make fun of them. They just might throw you in the slammer as they could perceive it in a way which foreigners will never understand.
LannaGuy Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 a certain PM would like "I say Thailand say"
Chicog Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 I don't know why people are laughing, I really don't.
MartyMcFly Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 I miss the bus driver, who killed the 14 passengers yesterday, marching in front of them with a sign: We Safe Bus Safe
elgordo38 Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Did they arrest ALL the bombers from the Erawan shrine and the pier? Yes and they have the reward to prove it.
Emster23 Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Wouldn't the time be better spent by police actually out on patrol keeping touris safe rather than marching about proclaiming this?
upena Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 I',m sure that Augie Touris feels much better now.
Gsxrnz Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Signwriter Somchai: "Boss, shouldn't there be a T on the end of Touris? Boss: "It got a T at the start, so no pompem. Anyway, the sign not big enough."

simtemple Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 This bullshit beggars belief. I think most foreign embassies will have warnings on their website about the dangers of this tourists paradise. For myself, recovering from a near fatal crash, caused by a loopy Thai woman, my country's embassy is not happy having any of its nationals visit or remain in this totalitarian death trap.
Lupatria Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 What was the motto of the demonstration of more than 5 people? Something like: "ASEAN watch out this is Thailand here we come and we are well prepared!"
toybits Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Wencome to AEC! Come Thailen, is safe. NO pompem..
