PHUKET: Tourism Authority of Thailand officials are preparing for this year's 'Phuket Countdown 2016' at Nai Harn Beach with five days of events leading up to the 'final sunset' at Promthep Cape.

Celebrations will include stage performances from local schools, celebrities and a band from the Royal Thai Navy.

"Phuket is known as the Pearl of the Andaman. We aim to promote our tourism potential with the New Year Countdown Celebration at Nai Harn," said Phuket Governor Chamroen Tipayapongtada.

The schedule of events at Nai Harn Beach is as follows...

The events that they didn't mention are;

  • Getting stabbed in the heart for your hand bag
  • Getting ripped off by your friendly neighborhood taxi driver
  • Getting robbed by the local druggy
  • Getting beat up by the local pimp for not spending time with one of his ladies
  • Getting drugged and robbed by a pretty thing you met at the bar
  • Getting pushed off a balcony

Coming to a Phuket event near you, blink and you will miss it.
