Camerata's Guide To The Permanent Residence Process
Here's a twist. An old buddy from Oz has just completed the 2 years back in Oz to get the OAP and portability. He worked in LOS for around 18 years with WP for the same employer but WP expired after he left Thailand and went back to Oz. Now soon back to LOS and a job all arranged with a similar employer, with WP. He's found an agent to investigate whether he'll need to now complete 3 years with WP with same employer (starting soon as per paragraph just above). Agent spoke to someone in Gov't. connected to PR matters (I don't know who) who advised 'more WPs not needed, the existing 18 years of WPs will very likely be accepted as proof of WPs'. (Taxes all paid). My understanding was that PR applicants has to hold a WP at time of application and had to prove they had held the same WP for current and 3 preceding years. Comments appreciated. -

To enhance passenger comfort, the terminal includes expanded waiting and relaxation areas with features such as a dedicated children’s play zone. Facilities for traveling families include breastfeeding areas and readily accessible strollers for kids, designed for multi-use during dining or rest. The prayer room at T2 serves passengers observing religious practices, notably attracting those from countries with significant Muslim populations. It includes amenities like a foot-washing area and individual bathrooms, enhancing spiritual comfort and privacy. Cultural enrichment is also a terminal hallmark, with displays of Hoi An lanterns and celebrations of Vietnamese heritage through nightly "Heritage Road" cultural programs, creating an immersive and uniquely Vietnamese travel experience. Information screens throughout Terminal T2 assist passengers in various languages, doubling as a feedback channel for continual service improvement. Importing personal belongings
We moved our complete Household (yes, including lots of books too) from Switzerland to region Chiang Mai. 20 feet container. We prepacked all the items wich were possible ourselves. All furniture what could be prepared was prepared by us (whithout wrapping palstic foil). Packing list was made by us. They tell you before what should NOT be written - like Buddhas, ARTS, etc. You give it different names... Their packing service Included antique items (table, 2 Comtoise clocks (around 1850) and more. That was all - after prepared by us - packed by the shipping company. Container was loaded and unloaded of course also by them. We paid a fixed price from our location Switzerland to location Chiang Mai - door to door - around 13'000USD. Included everything, also "customs". We had absolutley nothing to do... One can say that's alot of money - yes, it is. On the other hand we wouldn't be able to find lots of these things here. So, yes, it was worth it for us. Home is where your heart is... -
