No sympathy with suicides. Too many people that wanted to live, but, didn't.

Not sure where you are coming from

Do you understand when people can not handle a situation

Some can cope others can not

I do not criticise people who can not cope

I have helped many people with these problems

what????? it's a chiang mai news feature in the chiang mai forum - what gossip? I know people at the condo. I felt I was being very sensitive not putting a photo - there is always ONE and today it's YOU. DELETED

Well clearly you must be mother Theresa. Karen is right. Killing yourself over a broken relationship is a sin.

It's sad guys let girls affect them this much.

Especially when there are so many more in CM to choose from.

Sympathy for the family.

Suicide is a choice. For most people, dying isn't. I'll save my sympathy for those that didn't have a choice.

Is that clear enough for you?

Karen, I understand your beliefs and the underlying basis; however those beliefs also include compassion for fellow people. Some people struggle with depression/anxiety/mental health issues - it is not uncommon. These people are not thinking these thoughts or taking these decisions from a normal rational viewpoint - they are suffering and are in a dark, irrational, and seemingly helpless place. Mental illness is particularly difficult because our minds are the very top level of our existence, if a conflict starts in in your mind you have lost your ability for rational analysis & thinking. Unless you have ever experienced such, God willing you never do, then you cannot make such rational statements.

A permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Had a few friends go sideways over the years. Certainly wish I had known of their problems and maybe could have down something to help.

They say there are plenty of fish in the sea, but that`s a myth. Only once in a lifetime if you`re lucky we might get hold of a prize catch. I haven`t known many people that have.

I would never top myself over some woman, I value myself much more then that. All that matters to me is that I have good health, mentally and physically, and money enough so that I don`t end up in the gutter and can be my own man never having to rely on anyone, otherwise I can take or leave people.

You're an ice cube. The guy was in pain and made a bad decision on a bad day. It's a shame there wasn't someone there for him.

Post 14 got it right,

Mentally unable to cope and makes the tragic final step from which there is no chance of recovery.

Pity there was no one he could confide in and gain support.

My friends son did something similar, much to the shock of all family and friends. They were ashamed that they had not seen the distress that he must have had.

Not everyone is the same of course and I kinda understand where KarenB is coming from but...

Its a bit like saying if he were a pair of curtains he would have been told to pull himself together....

Unless a person has been That Depressed, they will never know what his feelings were.

If there are lessons to be learned, perhaps we can become more aware of violent mood swings and be there to listen with ten ears and speak with one mouth?

May his family and friends forgive both themselves and him. RIP young and foolish man.

I googled "cityview condo chiang mai suicide" but couldn't find anything.

Would expect some media would have picked it up by now? Anybody have a confirmation?

Many people have felt desperate and have attempted suicide at some time in their life. For the outsider it may seem pointless and irrational. But to criticise someone without knowing the circumstances or their state of mind is cruel and heartless. If someone has taken their life, may they rest in peace.

There are many reasons for suicide and every one has there opinion and many times they are rite.

I was told it was the ultimate ego trip every one look at me.

I had occasion to walk into where a suicide attempt had been stopped. It was a teenager his mother was trying to soothe him and tell him it would be alright just as any mother would do.

I tore into him about his looking for pity and just feeling sorry for himself. His mother went side ways and told me I could not talk to her boy that way. He told her to shut up I knew what I was talking about. that was over thirty years ago he is still alive and happy.

I am not saying they are all like that but there is no one real reason behind all of them.

My condolences to the family. I have lost one son through drowning I can not imagine what it would be like to lose one through suicide. The pain will go deep and in my experience last years before it can be turned into fond memories.

May he Rest in peace now.

Love is a powerful thing .... RIP

Just a guess .... she probably never really cared and was in it for other reasons.

For others who are feeling the pain ... She Is Not Worth It !!!

I hear you, I have lost a loved step son to murder.

There are lessons to be learned!

To see "Stuff" and talk about it before it is too late....

one Abusive post removed

Good and thanks.

If I were a mod on this thread I'd take another post and all replies as well.

Some folk have no compassion at all!

The view must be great from the moral high-ground, eh?

Initially, I must say I was disappointed to see the tenor of your post - dismissive at best.

However, it has opened the discussion somewhat.

You have encouraged the more compassionate to stand up and make a post.

So, perhaps, overall, you also did OK?

So thank you for your contribution.

Crystal clear. You lack basic compassion and understanding for a fellow human being, as does the idiot that says it's a sin. I don't know if he is judging from a religious viewpoint, but it wouldn't surprise me. So often, the people you most expect to be caring and sympathetic are the very ones that are harsh.

Fortunately, my views and sentiments are not restricted by religious dogma, partly because of a lack of a religious upbringing. Most religious people are decent, but the extremists are often full of hatred, and too judgemental. How sad they must be to see this an opportunity to air their hate-filled rhetoric. You can only pity them for their selfish, egotistical, holier-than thou attitude.

Frankly, if you didn't actually know the person, I doubt very much if the sympathies expressed here are genuine. Just platitudes. A social courtesy only.

I'm sure some bloke died in Mali today from a car crash. Feeling sympathetic for them?

Sorry to disappoint, because it only highlights your personality flaws, but mine , and I'm sure most of the other views are genuine. You are obviously a sick person, quite clearly psychopathic - having a severe lack of sympathy and understanding of other people woes. Since you are clearly a sufferer of this condition, then you don't understand any of us that aren't. I imagine you're not so happy but maybe struggling through, but if it gets too bad for you, you should seek help.
