Recycling in Chiang Mai

Where can I go to recycle in Chiang Mai?

Hi can anyone tell me where the recycling centers are in Chiang Mai, I live near to Chiang Mai University so somewhere close to there would be great.

I want to recycle things such as paper and cardboard, plastic, glass, metals (aluminium, tins, cans etc.).

In England I used to recycle a lot, but since I have been living in Thailand I fell into bad habits of putting everything except plastic bottles into the normal waste bin, not good!

Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

Cardboard, boxes, cartons etc are money! Thais recycle these at one of the depots (there's one on Canal Road) and get 8baht per kg.

There are a number of these shops on canal road. If you drive up from Mae Hia on the left. Can not miss it. They buy everything.
