Snatching student activists of the streets! And so the next phase begins..

Will they admit to having him?

Will they make public where he is?

Will he be allowed a lawyer?

If it's the real deal and not some kind'a publicity stunt, then not a good look for a government obsessed with self image, public perception, international perception,

Ignoring Human rights, the detention of any that holed the party line including the family members. The list goes' on.

But it won't take long for the junta supporters to come along and claim him a criminal for having the audacity for asking for an independent/transparent investigation on the dealings over the park fiasco, This will not do!!!

Disgusting behavior by the Military ............With more to come.

Most definitely, especially as paranoia about losing power and control increases.

Get used to this...this is only the start and it will get worse..I'm afraid it's only going one way and that's downhill. It to be honest has been heading that way for a while but power corrupts ! I so hope he can be freeded unharmed !!

BANGKOK: -- One of the six student activists of the so-called New Democracy Group, Ja New or Siravich Serithiwat, was apprehended by soldiers and was escorted to Nimitmai police station for questioning last night.

Ja New was wanted by the Bangkok Military Court after he and five activists challenged the court’s summon to report to the police to face charge of violating the Military junta’s political gathering ban.

Ja New was apprehended by six security officers as he was in front of Thammasat Rangsit University last night.

Due to defamation laws, forum rules and article 44 I cannot express how disgusted I am with the present regime and it's supporters.

Que the nutters to make this into a "But, but, but....Thaksin!" issuebah.gif

Now although I am very much not a junta supporter I would not take the word of this movement that he was abducted. Difference between abduction and apprehended. He was after all wanted by the military court on a BS charge.

Thailand is becoming more like China or N.Korea everyday,

just need the single gateway for the Internet to be in full

control.

I suppose the usual junta giks will defend this

Already have, see trogers post.

It is a question of language not support, it would appear that he was arrested not abducted, let us not get hysterical about this. I don't see trogers post as being in agreement with the present government he was just stating a fact. If he was being secretly abducted they certainly wouldn't be wearing uniforms and they could surely find a less public place to do it.

Is it snatching if he has been summoned by a court and refuses to turn himself in ?

(if they deny having him and not sending him to that court but keeping him locked up somewhere I will agree with you but so far that is not clear yet)

Well, it is certainly an irregular method of arrest. Could they not have just gone to one of his classes or his dorm and arrested him in the light of day? Why snatch him off the street in such a threatening way, unless the snatching itself is part of the "attitude adjustment". I cannot understand why they are after him at all, since the stated intention of this "government' is to end corruption, and all he was doing was investigating allegations of corruption. They should be encouraging that.
