Jimmy Savile report: BBC culture 'to be criticised'

LONDON: -- A report into cases of sexual abuse by Jimmy Savile linked to the BBC is set to criticise the corporation's culture, according to a news website that says it has seen a leaked draft.

Exaro said retired judge Dame Janet Smith's draft report says the BBC had a "deferential culture", "untouchable stars" and "above the law" managers.

But Dame Janet does not believe the BBC can be criticised for not uncovering his "sexual deviancy", Exaro said.

The BBC says it has not had the report.

my opinion only, because of J saville being a long term well known personality in the bbc and GB and in fact a large part of the world, and always seemed to be very jolly and of good behavior, and well liked by a big amout of the nations, and his work at the hospital in Leeds,I suspect it never came to the attention of the powers that be at that time. Its now difficult to come to terms with it,not just the bbc but all persons who were involved with him, both directly and indirectly.I also suspect that there is also many people who knew, or had a good idea what went on,to a point and of course, as per usual these things get hidden away, just in case it is not true,or for whatever other reasons. Then perhaps it stopped and was left to die a death, but also as usual these thing never ever die, they have a habit of returning when least expected, sadly a bit too late to confront the accused, just a pity someone did not open up 20 years or so ago,but no.Those people, and im sure im right in suspecting they did exist or maybe still do,well when they meet the man above they will have to hold themselves accountable to him.A wolfe in sheeps coat.

The BBC must represent almost a unique situation in the world where citizens are required, on pain of prosecution, to pay an annual tithe to a national broadcaster which is fully dedicated to the destruction of their way of life.

They were different times, back in the days when there was no political correctness, more or less anything goes, and celebrities, especially those in the pop music business considered getting an abundance of young girls lusting after them were the perks of the job and no one thought they were being out of order. I know because I was around at those times and understand the ways of thinking back then. Much more was acceptable in those days and attitudes were different.

Any celebrity back then who made a complaint about the the sexual exploits of another high profile celebrity would have probably been scorned, ridiculed, disbelieved and their career ruined. Mary Whitehouse became the butt of all jokes on TV and only recently was she considered to have been right, so I don`t blame certain people keeping quite about it all those years ago.

Some of those who knew exactly what Savile was up to,are still parading around the BBC with stretched wrinkly faces, but tightly closed slits that were once mouths !

Whatever which way they lose.

If they spoke out during the time they would probably had been destroyed by the media and their careers ruined and why the victims were afraid to speak out back then. If they speak out now the public would criticise them and their careers and reputations still ruined. If it were me I too would keep quite about it.

And that is called becoming morally corrupted and silently complicit which deserves no leniency or sympathy... they are sucking on their tax payer pensions still

Id have a public hearing and if need be sack a few dozen and cancel/freeze their pensions. A LOT of kids were abused by that monster and his sycophant friends, you bet your ass there are many still working or sucking on tax payers money for golden BBC pensions knowing all about their sordid little golden boy saville at the time and since.

Pedos abound in the UK establishment from members of the royal family all the way down to chauffeurs, tear down the whole sorry charade I say but thats one reason why i left, they never will.

Yes I can agree up to a point, but as Edmund Burke said:

The Only Thing Necessary for the Triumph of Evil is that Good Men Do Nothing, which applies to many situations, and atrocities !

I agree with a lot of what you say, how involved the establishment were entrenched and involved we will probably never know, just like savile, they are good at

deceiving the population, and ruining lives with their filthy vile trade !

I know it's easy to wise up after the event, but lets' all learn a lesson from the Vile Scum in our midst, and look out for those amongst us that may prey on our

children and young adults,If we don't who else will !

Do you really think that it`s not the same in other countries and is a unique phenomenon to the UK? Do you not think that there is a rottenness in the establishments of all societies? You do seem to have led a sheltered life.

The only difference between the UK and some other countries I won`t mention is that in the UK these matters can be exposed, whereas in other nations we never get to hear about them and it`s glossed over. Never look into anything too deeply otherwise you`re going to be bitterly disappointed.

Dame Janet says she doesn't believe the Beeb can be criticised for not uncovering what Saville was up to which is, to my mind, ridiculous.

I would suggest it was likely to be one of the worst kept secrets within the corporation but Saville was their major star and money spinner so for many reasons people thought it best not to speak up and now it's so easy to write off.

As a country we are much too open, compared with other countries, sooner or later the other countries will have to stop deluding themselves, and face up to a

World problem, and in this case,a need to eradicate these filthy vermin perverts who are ruining our childrens lives, and if Draconian laws are necessary then who

cares about the Perverts! give them a long stretch inside they will never ever forget.

As an aquaintance once said to me "i have done my time (six months for something minor, so now i'm as good as anybody ) I broke the news to him, people don't

forget " you will never have served your time in this town" The same applies for Pedos! Immigrate to Thailand there are plenty there. But don"t kid yourself you will

ever be accepted in decent society"

So basically this enquiry/report which has cost God knows how much in terms of tax payers money says in terms of the BBC is "you have been a very naughty boy!! Now go and play, Mummy loves you" !

What's the point!
