Affordable Accomodations In Koh Samui, Krabi, Ko Phi Phi In December

Recommended Posts

I will visit Thailand in December with my girlfriend and would love to secure affordable accomodations in Koh Samui from December 10th for 3-4 days, then in Krabi for about 4 days, then couple days in Ko Phi Phi.

Is there a good source that doesnt just include expensive hotels, but also small family owned bungalows that are more affordable(Im not sure if A/C is required this time of year if staying on in a Bungalow on the ocean beach).

Any advice would be highly appreciated.

P.S. By Affordable i mean not more than 2000 baht a night :o

Actually, my experience has been the LP book itself is poorly updated.

To be totally honest, the best, most informative guidebook I have ever seen for Thailand is the Loos (spelling?) guidebook. Unfortunately, it is all in German :o. This book is updated every year by people who actually go around and check the places in the book; the phone numbers, emails and web addresses are accurate. Which cannot necessarily be said for the Lonely Planet.

Several online booking sites also offer reviews by people who stayed there (sawadee.com springs to mind). These might give you a better idea.

I don't know how old you are but MY advise is:

........have an adventure............let Thailand come over you and if you arrive on Dec. 10th there's plenty of space everywhere....especially if you're prepared to pay up to 2K Baht.

I'm sure there a few TV members who can advise you about some accommodations in Samui, Krabi and Phi Phi.

Apart from business-travels I've never booked any accommodation in advance..........there's ALWAYS a place to stay and it's called............

adventure.....go for it !

Im 28 years old and its my second time to Thailand. The first time i went to thailand, in Sep/Oct 2004, I did exactly that -- other than first night in Bangkok everything else was found as I travelled.

Now my concern here is that its the month of December and peak season, closer to the end of it many places may be overrun by tourists and accomodations will not be that easy to find. Especially on Ko Phi Phi.

If you have concerns about accommodations and if I count correctly you have not much of a problem untill the 18th in Krabi.

If you wish to prebook on Phi-Phi you might want to have a look here and ask some guys who know the area (Phi-Phi) better than me:

I've always maganed to find accommodation...ALWAYS..even during Christmas time.

Talk....talk...and talk to people and you will find a place......ALWAYS !

Good luck
