Overstay Question

Recommended Posts

Anyway thanks to Joe and the others. I will go see at the Laos border and see if they let me go. If they don't, i guess i'll have to take a plane.

As ubonjoe said you are better flying out. If they refuse to let you pay and exit at the Nong Khai border they could arrest you and send you through the deportation process.

Still find it amazing how so many people have "suddenly" found the money and moral courage to clear their overstays. I wonder if it has anything to do with the impending blacklisting....................................

I'm going to assume the small photo is his child and the OP is realizing he needs to get his affairs in order and be responsible.

Why in the world wouldn't you seek a medical extension?

If you're well enough to type messages on thaivisa you're well enough to go to immigration with a medical certificate and explain the circumstances.

It is to late to do the extension now since he is already on an overstay. I think he probably was in a coma when he went on an overstay.

i've had a motorcycle accident and went into a coma. As for the money you shouldn't be worry for me as i don't worry about it at all. By the way the question that i've asked was to know if it was possible to pay at a border or if a flight was necessary. And please when you don't know what you're talking about well you know, it's better to just zip it.

A doctor's letter explaining that your overstay was the result of a coma should satisfy immigration.whistling.gif

People have tried to get an overstay canceled after being sick or injured and could not get it done. Immigration has no authority to waive an overstay fine.

I think they will say he should have sent his wife to explain the circumstances at the time, but he may be lucky and one of the immigration will be more understanding of the ops predicament, good luck to you anyway, try not to take too much notice of the ,over the tops.

You are right but from many reports when a border officer can't or won't process an overstay they just send the person back to give them a chance.

If the OP wants to try anyway a precaution would be using an agent to ask if they can process and not be there in persosin.

Once a person has entered a state of overstay Immigration have no authority, under any circumstance, to retrospectively remove that overstay

You are right but from many reports when a border officer can't or won't process an overstay they just send the person back to give them a change.

If the OP wants to try anyway a precaution would be using an agent to ask if they can process and not be there in person.

Not possible !

Involving an "agent" is only likely to complicate matters and increase cost.

While what you say is surely true for common people, be ressured that is not when an high profile case and an high immigration officer are involved.

They have the power to do pretty much what they want. And if it is not them it can be a judge.

Erdowan bomb video victims are another story their care is being paid by the gov.t and i would not be surprised if the extensions where given even without applying.

First of all, I would like to tell you that most of the answers you got are far from your complete options and many simply do not know what they are talking about.

In all probability, you will be allowed to leave the border going into Laos but you will not be allowed to return but to solve this problem there are some options that have not been mentioned here. I recently completed a 3 year overstay and it was solved simply by going to the right guy paying cash of course on my behalf to

immigration. What this entails is going to his office .....you will get on his bus and go to Laos where his staff has already notified immigration and you will be escorted kind of right thru the process like every body else. In your case, you probably would get a stamp in your passport while standing at the counter in from of the immigration officer with a 90 day old stamp, a 60 day old stamp and your current stamp or something to that effect to make u current. How much you will have to pay I have no idea but maybe as much as 20K for the trip up there, hotel for the 1 night, passport repair, and trip back on the bus. This guy is well connected and runs Visa runs every week on the only Insured bus running these runs and he has been doing it for many years and I have used him for 7 of them and recommended other guys in much worst shape then you. You can call the guy at his office on his phone and he probably will tell u to just come in and see him.

His phone number is: <contact by PM for phone number>. You can mention to him that a guy with a big overstay recommended him. You wont need to feel uncomfortable in any way with this guy taking care of you/

As far as the guys that comment to you about why u lapsed your time on your passport , I think they just want to hear themselves make rediculous comments.

What do you know? An 'agent' could even be a relative or a van driver.

It is done all the time and doesn't cost anything

Urbanjoe, if he was in a coma it would have been obviously impossible for him to get an extension, surely there's some sort of allowance for a person who is incapacitated and unable to do so, until such time they are back in the land of the living?

You know what they say ? Don't believe everything u read.

If u want to solve your problem by paying a little cash it can be remedied by using one of the most influential visa run people in Bangkok.

I know I just had a 3 year overstay and he took care of it for me and it was not big deal. Without me posting all the specifics I will just say

call him at his office ...the guy has done all my passport and visa crap for the past 8 years and he is very reliable and u can feel comfortable

dealing with him. Just tell him the guy "Rick" with the 3 year overstay recommended you and he will probably tell u to come to his office so he can

see your passport and tell u the cost and details. His number is : <contact by PM>

As far as people on here that like to talk stupid.....I wouldn't bother to even answer them. Why u overstayed is none of their business.

The only allowance it the ability for somebody to apply for an extension based upon illness or injury that prevents the person from traveling.

A lot of self righteous, judgmental people out and about on this topic.

I hope nothing ever goes wrong for them as a bit of self examination might cause them to self destruct.

I wish the OP well and hope he cruises through immigration.

Man, this is good advice!

You pay somebody, who you say is realy good, and you use him for the last 8 years! And in this time you had a overstay for 3 years?

So please, stop posting your BS!
