Hi guys. Anybody got any transport ideas to get from Don Muang (about lunch time) to Bang Saen?

So far I have the following thoughts;

1. Taxi. Easy but expensive.

2. Train to Bang Sue. MRT & BTS to Ekkamai. Big bus to Pattaya that doesn't go via the new road, that would drop me off at the Bang Saen turn off. Hoping there would then be a baht bus available into town.

3. Big bus to Victory Monument. Mini van to Bang Saen.

some minor variations:

@1. there is most often a GIANT taxiQ at DMK-and on the road plenty of taximeters-but that will require haggling to BgSn there.

@3. Special AirportbusA2 runs direct DMK/arrivals via Mochit to Vict Mon-easy peasy, or the usual citybuses along Vipavadee. Or VAN=the fastest, via Tollway, 30 bt.

@2: much easier to go to the Mochit bus-has nowadays even more PTY buses as Ekamai.

ALT4: free shuttlebus AoT to Swampy (should be free with either arr or dep @DMK- and then the BELLbus to PTY and as 2 for bgSn.

Dontknow if this works for your destination: catch a Sri racha bus in stead of PTY and onward Songhthaew alonfg Sukhumvit from there?

I made it!

A1 Bus from DMK to Mo Chit BTS. 30bht

BTS to Ekkamai 42bht Never seen Mo Chit station so busy, several very long lines for change. I needed to change too, so just bought a bottle of water, which I needed anyway, from a shop with no queue for 10bht thumbsup.gif

Ekkamai bus station window 15 ticket for air con bus (Rot air) 78bht to Sri Racha. Made it known to both driver & the ticket collector lady I wanted off at Nong Mon market, Sukhumvit Road, for Bang Saen. Driver was very helpful. This bus only had luggage lockers on the offside, but he opened an access door on the nearside, put my bag in there & showed me how to open & close it. I fully understood what he was about knowing he'd be letting me off on the road side.

Red Songthaew to within sight of the hotel. Should have been 20 bht, paid him a bit extra to "go now" with just 3 of us instead of waiting for it to fill up. 50bht

Total cost 200 bht (£4 - a bit less than £30 wink.png )

Times:

12.00 On the ground at DMK

12.20 luggage collected

12.30 Bus rolling

13.00 arrive Mo Chit

13.15 BTS rolling

13.50 Arrive Ekkamai bus station

14.30 Bus rolling. expected time 1 hr +

16.30 (2 hours! - bad traffic leaving Bkk) arrive Non Mong Market

16.45 Songthaew rolling

17.00 Arrive hotel

Asanee thanks for your useful info. wai.gif
