Best way to check what is covered would be with Direct Asia.

I second Transam, just contact AA.

direct asia currently have five catagories

Type 1: Comprehensive

Type 2+: Third party Fire and Theft + vehicle collision

Type 2: Third-Party Fire and Theft

Type 3: Third-Party Only

Type 3+: Third Party + vehicle collision

with respect to Type 3+ please requested to provide details for "vehicle collision" what is included in it. i see major difference between Type 1 and Type 3+ is "self accident" which is applicable to Type 1

what is main difference between "self accident" and "vehicle collision" with respect to Direct Asia

As well, any suggestions which i should opt for from above 5 types considering my car details - Honda city SMT Manual transmission - 60000 km - march 2010 make - base model (my old owner was having Direct Asia Type 1 until now)

AXA! Very good!

yes. agree but AXA is way too expensive as compared to quote from direct asia

If Direct Asia does not allow you to transfer/continue existing insurance with them, I would certainly skip that company.

AA Insurance Brokers (Thailand)....You can fill in a form in English on the Net to get a quote.

Yep AA for me as well.

Emailed them in the morning and car insured by the afternoon.

what is main difference between own damage "self accident" and own damage "vehicle collision"

Self Accident = you smashed your headlight with the hammer you had in your hand.

Vehicle collision = you smashed your headlight when you hit another vehicle.
