In need of help in hiring a truck to move from Bangkok to Udon Thani

Featured Replies

Can anyone help me find a reasonably priced 10 wheel truck to help me move from Bangkok to Udon Thani? I can do all the the packing and my friend can help me load the truck. My budget is 15,000, but i checked some places that want twice that. I am looking to make the move around 1 March, any useful advice would be much appreciated.

Will the weight of your goods be over 5 tons?

If not, then can use 6 whelk truck rather than 10 wheel...

This would be cheaper than 10 wheel

If it's only 5 tons, just use a pickup truck.

You'll have to get a Thai to pack it 6 metres high though. I tried it and could only get stuff to 4 metres before it got too ugly. whistling.gif

But a 1 tonne pickup truck is easily good for 5 tons as observed on every road in the country every day of the week. blink.png

Oh - 10 tons? No problem - that would be two pickup trucks, or maybe just one and a half in reality. coffee1.gif

The weight wouldn't be more than a couple of tons, mostly furniture, appliances, and a motorcycle. I suppose a 6 or 8 wheel truck would do. I ask about a 10 wheel truck to be on the safe side.

Trucks with driver for rent park on side streets here in Bangkok with large signs on them and expect most MC taxi drivers know where the local parking areas are and can take you - have someone able to explain what/when - unless you require full packing service believe this will be a good low cost option. They can hire a helper or two if required.

15K would be hard to find at that distance, if you found price under 10K, they'll move your stuff to theirs house :) !! Apx. 600Km from BKK, what's the price should be per Km with driver, haulers & fuel for round trip.

Here're some prof., sequence by Co. size, check them out:

If no packing, but just loading and unloading, then I think around 20.000 is a fair price if a decent company. Total truck is approx. 1200 km. But this is just me. Most of you think to high.

If looking for rock bottom price that would be the way..

Although 15,000 is not a bad price...

Normally 6 wheel gets around 4 km per liter (ish)

So if diesel and 1200 km ... 300 liters of diesel .. What is current price? Around 20 thb?

If so, that's already 6,000 just in diesel costs
