BANGKOK: -- When he saw his buddy getting his ass kicked, this elephant immediately ran in to protect his human.

In a video, which was picked up last night by a popular Singaporean Facebook page, three Thai men stage a prank to prove the elephant's loyalty.

"I don't like his face. Go get him!" the first guy says to another guy who immediately runs to the mahout and starts fighting with him.

So the next time that guy comes around, and the elephant stomps him into the ground, who you going to blame?

I thought Elephants were generally treated quite cruelly by their handlers while training and as usual we usually only see the bad news. Not so in this particular situation it seems?

Looks "staged" even to the point the elephant was trained to do it.

Yes, looks staged. Not surprised if it's a viral spin done to offset the current spate of negative comments and calls to close those animal 'farms' and stop animal abuse.

Of course it is staged. gigglem.gif

realistically this way:

"I don't like his face. Shoot him!" the first guy says to another guy who immediately shoots the mahout with his gun and runs away.

even the animal stands out for his caretaker. nice.

Lighten up man, get a life. Can you only think in a negative manner ?

And how much cruelty did the elephant go through to learn that trick?

elephants never forget..a man pulled a big thorn from an elephants foot while on holiday in africa. the elephant trumpeted its thanks and ran off..he will not forget me, the man thought.years later at a circus back home the elephants came into the ring and a big male trumpeted and began to run through the crown towands him.. most people scattered but the man remembered africa and waited for it to get to his seat with a smile on his face...the elephant smashed him to bits...it was a different elephant.

A heart warming story, if it is in any way true, and such a fresh change from the loyal little guy I keep hearing about rushing in to his elephant's defense. wink.png
