Ps, as a blue eyed blonde should I ever father with a delectable thai lady, what look would be most likely?

Shouldn't matter, just love them...... that is the most important thing.... far more important than overlaying stereotypical attitudes on your nearest and dearest.

Apologies Thaddeus, that wasnt supposed to sound like it would alter the way I would feel, I was just wondering if many Thai/European couples on here had kiddies and what features they carried

Hope that makes a bit more sense

My husband & his mum (thais) both belive that our baby will have blue eyes as me, the mother, has blue eyes. Mum in law says the eye colour comes from the mum but I am proof this isn't true as my mum is really dark hair, skin with hazel eyes & my dad is a blue eyed strawberry blond. So there is no indication really.

They wont be todl though. Suppose we will find out in May :o

We recently saw a thai women on the plane from KK with us who's daughter had really fair blond hair & a slightly tanned skin colour. The toddler looked nothing like the mum but I asked if she was hers & she said yes but the dad was skandi. The kid did have brown eyes but looked just like a european kid who had been on the beach for a few weeks & got a nice tan.

Hubbies niece is very dark & is always told how ugly she is by other kids but when I show her photos to anglo friends they always comment how stunning she is & how she could be a model (very tall for thai girl even at 14). Amazing thailand :D

No need to apologies at all mate.

I read 'should I ever' as 'if I am lucky enough to' and not 'should I want to ..... no problems on that score.

There are more than a couple of mixed race kids hereabouts, I haven't seen an unattractive one yet. :o

The American south was exactly of the same mind (fairer is better) until about the mid-1960's. Typical to most agrarian societies: where the fairer-skinned onces are assumed to be the ones who sip their iced-teas in the shade while the darker ones slave under the hot sun.

The earlier posts about the TV commercials missed one major observation--there are now commercials for skin-whitening products for men on Thai TV. They usually contrast a lighter, suave, shirt & tie "professional", with a less-desirable darker construction "blue-color" type. All very funny when you come from the West with opposite stereotypes.

My stepson is Thai (not half) and dark, like his father. He's absolutely gorgeous & even Thais seem to think so! When we go out, he gets fussed over by everyone from waitresses & shopgirls on (sympathy for another thread, esp when they give him ka-nom without asking me first!!!) Don't know whether it's because he' so obviously Thai while I'm farang, though, but we certainly get a lot of looks as we walk around hand in hand, him chattering away in fluent English! :o

Ive just had a baby boy 6 weeks ago and I was wondering the same thing about the blonde hair and blue eyes. I was born with bright blonde hair and blue eyes, my hair gradually turned brown between 13 to 16. My baby was born with light brown hair and I think his eyes will stay brown. His skin colour is very pale, Im quite pale and he is a slight shade darker than me. Whilst going to all the hospital appointments when the wife was pregnent I always kept an eye out for other mixed children just because I was curious to know if it was possible for him to have blonde hair and blue eyes. I think out of around 20 mixed babys I saw 2 of them had blonde hair and they were both girls although one of them was so blonde im sure her mother had dyed it. To me my boys the most beautiful thing ive ever seen and already I can tell hes going to be a handsome young chap. Hes also turning into a right little chunky monkey, he seem's to grow cm's every day.

My wife who is Vietnamese really believed(bless her)that she would get white skin if she lived in Northern Ireland.Well she has been here for over 3 years and not much sign of it happenign yet :o But certainly i know in Vietnam it is seen as a staus thing.IE if your dark you must work in the fields.Terrible snobs. Our daughter is quite fair skinned but you can tell she has Asian blood but she really upset my wife the other day when she said to Thom my wife that she looked white like her Daddy and not Brown like her :D .She is only 3 so it just goes to show how early we start forming impressions about skin colour....

ive only seen a few halfies with blue eyes, its pretty rare.

But dont worry, when they grow up the ladies will be all over them as, well for the girls they usually turn out to be stunners

My daughter is very fair for a 'luk kreung'. She has already been brainwashed to think that dark skin is not good. The other week she asked me, "why is mummy black skinned?", "I have light skin because I take lots of showers!" :o

My friend (blue eyed blonde man) had a baby with his Korean wife - their little boy has lovely hazel'ish eyes. The blue is unlikely to come through as the brown is the dominant and stronger color. I have a blue eyes, my husband has green- it is more likely that our five month old baby will have green eyes - again the blue is recessive.... Currently he has blue but I expect that to change...

hazel eyes carry the allelles/genes etc for yellow, light brown/grey/blue and green mixes...not really accurate but more or less

we are all ashkenazi jews w/lite brown to blond/strawberry blond, yellow/brown eyes or green or hazel... my youngest daughter has white blond hair and washed out ocean blue eyes... and though she is what every yementie and morraccan jewish girl watns to be, my daughter wants to have yemenite long black curly hair and deep brown eyes

give it up... u always want what u dont have

now with anon who is deep chocolate and everyone is saying what beautiful children we could have--if and when we have child... here, slanted eyes and nescafe colour is considered exotic and beautiful athletic active and strong whereas white is sickly scholarly and generally icky.

go figure

oh. the lite brown /blonds in the family all got darker

mine just got mousier
