Bangtao Beach is the site of the latest suspected drowning of a Chinese tourist.

PHUKET: Police suspect that the 63-year-old Chinese man whose lifeless body was recovered from Bangtao Beach yesterday had most likely drowned.

Police Captain Krasorn Bunprasop of Thalang Police Station was notified by Thalang Hospital at 2.20pm that a Chinese tourist named as Mr Miu Zhioin, 63, had been deceased for no less than an hour.

According to police report, the man went swimming at about noon the same day, and some time later, tourists spotted his unconscious body floating in the water, and helped to bring the man ashore.

On the beach volunteers attempted to revive the man with CPR, but to no avail, as an ambulance finally arrived and transported the tourist to hospital.

Another Chinese pushing up daisies. Perhaps a previous medical problem. Who knows.

If you don't know how to swim, don't go in the water. If you know how to swim but have never swam in the sea/ocean, don't go in. You might die.

And in this season when the sea is as flat as a shit carters's hat how is it possible for someone to drown? Perhaps he had an underlying health problem? What ever a man's life has been wasted and it is such a waste. RIP

They had their best detective on the job, no cigarette buts, no balcony, lots of sea, must be drowning.

it really does seem that the chinese perfer to do 'suicide' at sea level rather than hopping over the balcony....

Chinese but aloso japanese are poor swimmers, like an anchor : straight to the bottom !!

RIP
