Moving from Pattaya to Bangkok

If you currently live in a larger Condo or apartment bldg, the management usually have a list of haulers. Local moto-dops also usually know somebody with a truck. It all seems to be done really informally. I've seen Thais bring all their stuff down to the lobby, go speak to a motodop and 15 minutes later, a pick-up pulls up.

Excellent idea. I'll remember that. Thank you "ddd" for posting about it.

Jimmy - I think he's referring to "motocycle taxi". They queue at the top of many sois in Bangkok. Wear colored vests with district and number printed on the back. They seem to know everything about everyone in their areas. But, I don't know if have motocycle taxis in Pattaya or not.

Further note: When I moved apartment-to-apartment in Chiang Mai, I moved boxes to the front door of the building -- as "dddave" explained above -- then went out to the street and waved down an empty song-taew myself. Driver was very happy to have a long fare like that, and enthusiastically helped me lift and carry the boxes. But Pattaya to Bangkok is a long trek: I don't know.
