Not so fast - He got a promotion last December, and will now be pocketing, er... overseeing several Marine Provinces.

PHUKET: Long-time supporter of the Phuket jet-ski industry, Phuket Marine Chief Phuripat Theerakulpisut was promoted to acting director of the Marine Office Region 5 on October 1.

“I will continue to serve as the Phuket Marine chief,” Mr Phuripat confirmed to the Phuket Gazette yesterday. “As I am manning both positions, I now take care of six provinces: Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi, Trang, Ranong and Satun.”

Your news is old, Steelepulse's seems to be more recent.

This 'landlocked transfer' does surprise me though after his promotion only 1/2 year ago.

If I were to speculate, this has something to do with last weeks raid in which 28 unlicensed jet ski guys were rounded up. Either way, let's hope the new guy isn't a complete sellout like the old guy.

I wouldn't mind being wrong, but might this be about being at the main Ministry building, overseeing all those provinces?

No, it is not. He is being transfered away from Phuket etc. and will have no responsibility anymore for Phuket etc. Apparently since yesterday, so he really is being punished for something.

Good to know, thanks.

In one of the more lucrative postings around? Don't count in it.

Wonder if Furry wasn't sharing from that 28.

I really hope this is really true. He has a lot of baggage to be punished for. But he also has a lot lot of money to pay off the higher ranks ...

Probably a well deserved reward for his career achievements. Every single task or project he laid his hand on has been a complete disaster.
