DPM Prawit brushes off former PMs criticism of draft charter

Featured Replies

He forgot to add, former PM and convicted fugitive.

How funny you think it's Thaksin clap2.gif

Who else could it have been at that time?

Abhisit made his response yesterday several days after Thaksin and he disagreed with it too.

The difference is that Abhisit did his complaining while he was in Thailand which is more than your "hero" Thaksin did.

Please also bear in mind that Abhisit was charged with murder in Thailand but he stayed here to have his day in court unlike your "hero" who ran away from justice and hasn't returned yet.

Abhisit's case was far far more serious. The same political forces that were baying for Thaksin's blood (any charge would do - except of course the one that might have succeded, the drugs war) stood behind Abhisit.Abhisit was never at risk - though his reputation was sullied, perhaps an unforeseen event. He has now been tossed aside by those whose puppet he once was and probably would still like to be.Personally I think Thaksin made an error of judgement in fleeing. For someone who presumably likes to think of himself as a skilled politician, he is curiously inept at times.

I believe he genuinely feared for his life & realised he could seek revenge from overseas.

While acknowledging that some influential people may be military officers, the deputy premier stated that those caught would be made to sign a memorandum confirming the end of their illicit behavior before being placed in the justice system.

That should do it -

police man "stop being influential and mafia-like or else........"

Army General "or else what? Do you know who I am?"

police man " or else it will be the ..... MEMORANDUM"

Army General "Oh Buddha, NO! not the MEMORANDUM please don't make me sign"

police man " sorry you had your chance, do you need to borrow my pen?"

Army general " No no no here are all my bank account numbers, you can take as much as you want, just take the MEMORANDUM away please"

police man " OK now we are getting somewhere, what did you say that PIN number was? 5555? OK you are free to go, just be more careful in the future. Remember at the RTP we have the MEMORANDUM and a lot of PHOTOCOPIERS too"

Army General " I will be a reformed character after this"

He affirmed that the new charter was written with close care to ensure the greatest benefit to the nation

liar, liar pants on fire... coffee1.gif

AND.... he continued: "while reiterating his suggestion that appointed senators be utilized during the transitional period away from the current government to ensure that ongoing reforms are maintained. He urged all citizens to take part in the charter’s public referendum."

Now, let us see this bit: appointed PMs.... Appointed MPS voted Khun Abbhisit as PM.

Appointed MPs as a transitional period??? Sounds like the last circus... Who do you think the appointed MPs will vote for next PM? Or else,,, adjustment time ! whistling.gif

Ergo, why bother voting on the charter. The referendum is Hobsonian, another dog and pony show to convey the appearance of Democracy.

Oy vey! Thainess strikes once again !cheesy.gif

"Appointed MPS voted Khun Abbhisit as PM" ?

Has history been rewritten again ?

History does not need any help to repeat itself in LOS.

A PM is supposed to be elected by the people (AKA plain Thai folks) and not by MPS, some appointed and some elected. Abbhisit was never elected by the Thai people.

That rewrite of history takes place periodically in LOS. However, the Anti-Thaksinistas (I am not one of their fans) will condone anything done by the elites (AKA Democrats and other "powers that be") and attack those who bring to the fore the questionable actions of Ammart.

Yingluck Rice scheme Bad, bad! Abbishit/Suthep Palm oil scandal, rubber scandal, OK, no problem there, they had good intentions.

Furthermore, not all Thai that is translated into English is verbatim and/or truthful. Nor the translations from Thai language from "significant others" are devoid of bias.

How would a Farang who only speaks a smattering of the local language can truly know what was said by the Official Truth Channels of government?

Most Farangs rely on what they perceive in LOS is the equivalent of their political persuasions in their countries of origin . And by "significant others" tell them.

QUESTION: Would the anti-Thaksinistas have a life if Thaksin had never been born of have been VOTED PM by the Thai people?

Do not bother answering. Take your meds and let's hope your OCD improves.

Ah, so PM Abhisit was elected by the MPs who were elected by the people. Just like his predecessor and the one succeeding him.

Ran away? He was in New York at a UN meeting. Return? To face justice? Like Yingluck? Come on, pls make your assumptions more detailed like Rubl or scorecard. We do like to debate with a little more insight.

But what was he doing in New York?

He had already quit politics and being PM (for 47 days).

He certainly was NOT affirmed as the caretaker PM by the highest person in the land. Certainly much higher Than Thaksin can ever be.

Why don't YOU do some research and prove me wrong?

No, I like your research better.

Thank you for your kind comment.

Perhaps one day I can return it.

I think Thaksin fled abroad because he had a shrewd suspicion that if he entered the Thai penal system, even if only for the relatively minor business for which he was (many would say rather "iffily") convicted, he would probably not come out alive.

Do you guys not follow the Thai news ??

A recent case of him saying the Army has overstayed its welcome.. They actually are at his house today as he is making more public statements against the Junta, claiming the 5 years plan is seen as trying to hold onto power and should be scrapped.. he even used implied and used the words civil war from the Juntas actions at trying to stamp out any resistance.
