Does anyone know where to buy toggle aka butterfly bolts in BKK? I have tried Homepro, Homeworks, SCG and most of the construction shops near home but only get blank stares at a picture of one.

I did buy some from Homeworks a few years ago but they no longer stock them. I have found the plastic ones at SCG but they are no good for supporting weight. I need all metal ones, 3/16" x 3" would be ideal. TIA

No it is to fix a steel pipe (25mm) supporting a rollup vinyl curtain to a barge board. I cannot get access to behind the barge board because of the roof above and the ceiling below so the only way I can think of is steel toggle bolts.

Thanks for the reply and suggestion.

In soi Tao pun, soi 24 from Pracha Rat Bang Sue, the teakwood street.

Somewhere in the middle of that street is a shop where all Thai contractors go to buy, i don't know the name but it's inbetween those furnitureshops. It looks like an alley but has several shops inside and all belong to the same company. At the outside you see powertools in the window and you walk in that alley next to it. You pass that powertool aircon shop and behind it is a steelware shop who really has a lot.

They won't be happy with you as farang because they can't speak english, just grab what you need and pay at the cashiers in the alley/walkway.

Best is to bring your cellphone with this picture and show it while asking anee mee mai?

Also walk further down the alley and you'll see many more departments of the shop, they have it all!

If you go into soi tao pun from the pracha rat side it's after about 3-400 metres on the right hand side. It's a great shop and much cheaper then homepro and the lot.

Thain, thanks for the info. I will pay them a visit with a Thai. It is amazing that some things we can get at home easily are so hard to get here. I was at the point where I was going to ask my daughter to mail me some. They can be bought off eBay but the postage is a bit steep.

If i can't find what i need i just make it myself one way or the other....but this shop has a lot, you can even park there in the back but have to know where to drive into an alley. It's terribly busy in that street/area though.
