I never used to have a problem. Get off bus. Walk accross road. Wait 5 minutes and get on one. This is pre makro days.

Last 3 or 4 times I have done it I have ended up walking 15 or 20 minutes with not a songtaew to be seen. Maybe I have just been unlucky but it seems like something has changed in the last year or year and a half.

I thin k you just picked a wrong time of day mate, i do the same thing and never have a problem, done it 3 times this year walk across the road and 3 to 5 minutes wham a baht bus is there......

Probably wrong time of the day. After 9 pm you have to wait , sometimes 20 minutes.

Hundreds per hour doing that u-turn from the roundabout down to the beach. If you could handle a brief walk past Tesco Lotus, you'll see the regular 10 baht buses passing by the dozen.

30 baht to Beach Road, I believe.

Price is 20 baht to Pattaya Beach and 30 baht to Jomtien Beach

Below is a picture of the prices board, just above the bahtbus waiting for customers.
