TKI Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Dear all, i heard about the existence of a Chia Tai Outlet Store in Chatuchak (not the one close to the Headquarters in Songsawad). Does anyone know where it is. Address in english or google maps location would be very helpful Thanks a lot.
rice555 Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Hello TKI, if you google your question, you get(see pic) this on the 1st page, not shown. The link to the pdf, which am having problems opening, gives some info, I guess??? Finally opened, but I'm to lazy to read/look for. On the tray thing, you can buy bulk pots, if your going do do GH, make a GH, I don't like the word trolly, but like an tray/wheelbarrow made out of angle iron(steel really) to male a lip to keep the pons from falling off, and expanded metal as the shelf. Sized so you can navigate the door/isle. I liked your pic's, your way more organized than me. rice555 ERROR I can't find the pdf url, 1st. page the 2014 CT Co. report.
rice555 Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Hello All, TKI, I went through the pdf fast and didn't find the info, but on the bottom of the link it give some reference to JJ, see pic. Here's the info on the last CT Farm Fair, 2015, the next should be 2017, and the map to the farm. rice555
TKI Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 Dear rice, thanks a lot for your postings and for your kind efforts. Bulk pots is a very good idea. Do you know where to source them? Also the car on the foto is great, never seen before. Where can i get it? Hope you are doing fine. Thanks and Regards, Tobias
TKI Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 rice, maybe you wrote already and i didn't get it, when and where is the Chia Tai fair in 2016? Regards, Tobias
rice555 Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 rice, maybe you wrote already and i didn't get it, when and where is the Chia Tai fair in 2016? Regards, Tobias The CT Fair is every 2 years, so 2017 will be the next one. The cart is just off "google pic". A small local tractor repair or welding shop should be able to make, wells may be a small problem. Our local DoHome and I think Global House have packs of pots for sale. The Big Talat here has shops that sell all kinds of ag supplies, I will try and get a Co's name off a box of pots and see if I can get a contact #, But as I've done, I just find it easier to do poly bags, got to order some white ones from CM, they ship them to you by bus. rice555
TKI Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Hi rice555, thanks for your reply. You are lucky. We neither have DoHome, nor Global nor does the Talat sell bulk pots. Anyways, i think i'll follow your advice, using bags. Cheaper and easier to get. Still, if you can get the Co's name and contact of the bulk pots that would be great. What is CM and how can i contact? Maybe i also would like to order there. And, why do you use white bags, what is their advantage? Best Regards, Tobias

They do/did have 2 sizes and the ones that another TV member got an order which we split. The larger of the 2 has no-holes which makes it great for putting the drain holes where you want. Will be leaving in 20 min. to go check out the pots. rice555

Couldn't get Co. info, wife was not along to do the questioning, the pots come in recycled white mesh bags, will be back there on sun. and will have the translator in hand. I wasn't sure what size you were looking for, but for the 3" and 4", first the 4". 4" [email protected]. [email protected]. 3" [email protected]. [email protected]. I think they had 2" before, but didn't see any. One of the problems I've had using these pots is the size of the drainage holes, I used a round paper sticker from a stationary shop to keep the potting mix from washing out. I now use large drinking cups from Marko and use an electric soldering iron to make drain holes, a fan to blow the fumes away. I only use the cups for melons, cucumbers and squash starts. Tom's, chili and eggs, I'am happy withe the results directly from a 50-cell. .rice555
TKI Posted April 9, 2016 Author Posted April 9, 2016 Dear rice555, thanks a lot. Thats great info. Sorry for the late reply, somehow i missed your post. Seem DoHome is a good source for gardening products. I will try to find one of their shops in our region. Wish you a nice (not too hot) gardening day. Best regards, Tobias
rice555 Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Hello All, TKI, DoHome has a good selection of basic products, better than Global House, another MEGA store here in town. After checking for the HortiAsia 2016 show, they canceled the show for this year in BKK, usually a good place to find products and seed. This is useally my off growing season, but even with yesterdays heat, things are doing OK. rice555
